Couldn't find an official thread for this anywhere so decided to start my own.

UKIPT Galway festival starts tomorrow!

Heres the full tournament schedule and more details...

http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/live-events/ukipt/festival-schedule

Including a England vs Ireland team event, the Irish Poker Championship, lots of side events and cash games and finally leading upto the UKIPT Main event with a 1m guarantee!

Running alongside Galway races should be a pretty awesome week Cheesy

Satellites are still running on Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker so still lots of chances to win a seat.

Hopefully see some of you there.

Any questions of queries let me know and ill do my best to help.

Really pleased to have been asked to be part of Team UK this weekend at the Full Tilt Poker Galway Festival Heads Up Event. It's a €1k buy in invite only and has 16 players from each country.

Here's a link to the first round draw http://www.pokerpalz.com/news/story/table-draw-for-full-tilt-poker-galway-festival-heads-up-event-rounds-1-3

I'm almost certainly part of the value but should be quite fun. I like the UK side better overall, think we've got this

What's the point of it other than nonsense promotional rubbish and making people attend a festival a week before they need to?

probably not much point at all in the grand scheme of things, just like any poker tournament really

Any live streaming being done for it?

not sure, but they're bound to do some sort of coverage if only to get people to come to Galway a week early

Hi all,

Finishing touches have just been completed to the build and considering we have come from a derelict plot of land 10 days ago with no power, internet, sewers or building of any type it looks pretty amazing even if I do say myself.

I posted highlights in the DTD satellite thread so won't repeat post but safe to say we have a lot going on for the entire 17 day festival.

Question from the thread:

- Airports: Shannon and Knock are the closest and easiest at around a 45 minute drive. There is a regular coach service from these airports with a number of companies which is pretty good. We also have a deal with a local taxi firm for a flat rate of €100 which if there are 3 or more of you is really reasonable:

+353 (0)91 561111

Dublin is around 2 hours away by coach and again there is a direct service to Galway which runs very regularly.

For the UKIPT we are offering a free service from Dublin Airport terminal 1 at the following times on a specially branded Full Tilt Poker bus with complimentary beers and we are even working on having Sit & Go tournaments available throughout the journey:

Wednesday 7th 18.30 Coach bay Dublin airport terminal 1 Direct to Galway City Centre
Thursday 8th 13.00 Coach bay Dublin airport terminal 1 Direct to Galway City Centre
Thursday 8th 19.30 Coach bay Dublin airport terminal 1 Direct to Galway City Centre

Streaming - We will be live streaming the UK vs Ireland Heads Up, final table of the Irish Poker Championships and the entire UKIPT Main Event.

The entertainment area is pretty cool and has a late license until the early hours with free pool table, , retro games area, Sky sports etc etc.

Hotel rooms can be pretty pricey at this time of year of here. We have bought up large block bookings well in advance to help accommodate everyone and our prices are around half what you would pay in the same hotels, particularly during the Galway Races (approx 250,000 attend the horse racing festival to give you an idea of the scale with the population of Galway at only 60,000).

These are available from UKIPT Hotels:

http://www.ukipthotels.com/

Promotions - These include a rake free happy hour on all cash games, a UKIPT Seaon 4 passport for the last standing FTP qualifier and added value to the Championship events:

http://www.fulltiltpokergalway.com/

I think everyone who came to the UKIPT here last year agreed it was the highlight of Season 3 (alongside UKIPT Notts) so hopefully see you all here (satellites on DTD, PS and FTP)!

Any questions please fire away.

Jamie

Well this sounds pretty good and flying to Dublin is cheaper. How do I guarantee myself and my friends a seat on this coach?

If its citilink I booked online a few days in advance online, bus wasn't busy though.
