I've got the air. Depends what kind of performance you want.  If you want something that's redic thin, lightweight and portable then the air.  But if you want something semi portable with redic performance the it's the pro all the way.  Go on the apple store online and you can play around with the configurations and look at the prices.  You can save a few £££ by ordering online but might not get what you want.  If you have a mate who works for apple they can usually get you roughly 20% off the price.

Yeh you might need a bit of overlap but I'm sure it'll be fine.  Ill fire up 4 in the morning on mine and see how it goes down!

MacBook Pro range due to be revamped very shortly.

Apple have been pushing the old stock to students and such over the past few months.

Alongside today's announcement about new iPhone, they might give further details, so could be worth hanging on.

Check out the price on Amazon and the Apple Store.

I got mine from Amazon, brand new and boxed, next day delivery and saved about 15%.  I was not able to find a better price than Amazon.

The new MacBook Pro's are not much thicker than the Air.  You should look at the Retina display and see if you think it is worth the extra money.  You also need to consider getting the SSD instead of the regular drive.

For 4 tabling I would probably go for the standard 15" MacBook pro and not spend the extra money on the Retina display or SSD.
