Nah, we still have a moment to talk about burgers first...

Over here, Byron is the best entry level burger.  Ok, slightly posher than BK, but still entry level.  For a nicer burger, This side of the pond, try Bar Boulud.  The Piggie is immense.  Not silly money to go in there at lunchtime.

I've rarely been able to go into a steakhouse for dinner and order anything other than steak.  But for lunch, places like Gauchos do a pretty good burger.

Over to Vegas.

Best burger bar is Holsteins in Cosmopolitan.

On the same theme, steakhouses are also good places to hunt for burgers on lunch menus.  The trouble is, most Vegas steakhouses only open for dinner.  Good burger options available at lunchtime can be found though,  in Carnevino, Delmonico and Capital Grille ~ where the ratio of sirloin to earholes/bumholes/eyeholes will be a little bit higher.

Circa 1975 and pre Burger King, McDonald's, Nando's etc, Wimpy was the place to be.
Mrs Red use to have a frothy coffee, a toasted teacake and a knickerbocker glory, I used to have the mixed grill with those circular sausages which surrounded the egg.

And, for the record, McDonalds for breakfast, burger king for lunch, pretty much any indian restaurant for dinner.

Thread was wrapped up for me at this point.

In the early 1970's a place called "The Great American Disaster" opened in the Fulham Rd/Chelsea area, I can't remember the exact location, but they made fantastic char-grilled burgers which were a revelation at the time.

They were so successful that they spawned copy-cat competition which called itself "The Great American Success".

Wimpey is still the best by a mile (unless the budget stretches to a Byron).  They are hard to find now, but there is one in the town near me - still go down there for the Quarter Pounder with cheese in the brown bun.

Following on from Simon ref Vegas burgers never tried Best Burger bar but have tried a few others...

Swerve Fat Burger in Vegas, very overrated imo, palce is a dump and feels like you could get stabbed at any second..
Heart attack grill is pretty incred but more about quantity over quality

Planet Dailies in PH is also a swerve. Bog standard and no flavour as you can almost tell from the pic below.

And, for the record, McDonalds for breakfast, burger king for lunch, pretty much any indian restaurant for dinner.

OK, you've just blown your chance of me cooking for you, as you requested yesterday in my Diary.

I only cook for those with refined palates.

What. Who could say no to an Indian?

Me.

I never have, & never will, eat an "Indian meal", I have far too much repect for my sphincters.

And for the very same reason, I don’t drink alcohol, eat fruits, raw veg, prunes, red meat, consume milk or any sort of diary  *Shakeshead*

If you haven’t tried it, you have an open invitation to my Home next time you’re in Notts on a weekend, for some home made Indian food

But to be fair, it does give me Delhi belly too..

Ahh, thank you, also for the invite you sent me via PM.

You are making me feel a little rude or ungrateful now, but I just cannot do it - see the reply to Rexus.

Haha.. No problem, my brothers the same only eats certain foods but doesn't touch Indian food..

I've recently gone off Chicken, much prefer beef Lamb, fish and anything else.. So chicken burgers are always off the menu, could never do that Pitt challenge..

There's a place that I used to go to in Jamaica queens that did a fried fish sandwich, probably the best sandwich I've ever tasted.. Think the place was on Merrick..

And here's my other favorite Sandwich

How many do you have ffs?

If you have more than one I'm not sure what on earth is the problem is.

No idea how many I have - I would imagine the same number as anyone else. Probably at least 8 or 10 of them?

I am only bothered about one of them in this instance though, the rest will cope fine.

We have 100s of them in our bodies, I believe it isn't actually known exactly how many as there are so many that control blood flow.

This comment probably has no place in the thread, but I quite like lay-by burgers / bacon butties etc.

Yes!  There is a van outide the local B&Q.  He does a burger with egg and onions.  It's great.
