Like: Alternative rock/anything with decent guitar riffs pretty much. Always liked White stripes/Franz ferdinand/keane/coldplay etc

Falling in Reverse
Glamour of the Kill (Some alternative rock some heavier)
Every Time I Die (Heavy)
Trivium (Getting on towards the heavy end of the market)
Twin Atlantic
Foo Fighters (always worth a revisit)
The Fratellis (always worth a revisit)
Electric Six (pretty much anything off the Fire album)
Arctic Monkeys (AM album, recommend by Ray)
Hoosiers (Worried About Ray, to go along with the above suggestion)

Thanks all.

No it doesn't need to be current. I like a bit of rolling stones, stone roses or the kinks sometimes.

I'll add a disclaimer that stuff I don't think is that heavy often turns out to be everyone else's idea of Bring Me The Horizon / Slipknot.

I also wasn't aware that the MC had such a fine taste in music (worth it for the video if nothing else):

Electric Six was one of the best gigs I have ever been to. Did not expect that at all.

If you like heavier stuff without going too far off the deep end, I'd suggest the Korn dubstep album (think it's called Chaos Lives in Everything, although that might just be one of the songs).

If you want to expand your horizons, listen to BBC 6Music. Any show there has a smorgasbord of stuff, but most have a guitar-indie-base. Bound to be something you hadn't considered before.

As for riffs, Slash albums any good to you? Some cracking collaboration tekkers on there. Velvet Revolver also, with mixed results.

If you want a new band, try Phoenix. Reckon that could work for you.

I have seen Electric Six and Sheffield Academy and confirm they are extremely good.

Korn dubstep album

Radiohead marathon?

I used to be really into the sort of guitar-driven alternative stuff but have moved away from that into more electronic stuff though so I'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to this genre. Any albums released post-2007 that I should definitely give a listen to try and relight the fire?

What sites do you play on most often?

In the past 12 months nearly 100% on pokerstars.

I've dabbled on pokerstars.fr, played a winamax.fr series recently and played a few tournaments on party. Stars.fr is incredible, but over a small sample I've dumped a ton of money there so I'm kinda over that site for a while.

Hey Dan,

No idea if you play cash at all, but just wondering (if you do) how you feel your play differs between the two.

The reason i'm asking is, in cash I feel I have a lot more scope to play hands, play a wider range, and play a lot more through out the streets.

In MTT's, do you think it's best just to generally play a lot tighter then say in a cash game?

It seems in cash I play LAG, but in MTT's it falls more on the TAG side of the line.

Any shout for playing LAG in MTTs?

Cheers

Day 19

Put in a fairly normal Sunday session. Overly played quite poor I think, I had zero motivation and was trying to find things to distract me. Terrible. I think it's down to doing no study this year. Before, I was very good at regular study but because my computer's power supply blew up when I arrived in the Netherlands I was using my laptop and was too lazy to download all the programs. Shocking.

Profit/loss: -$945

Hours played: 9

I have treated myself to a months subscription of RunItOnce, I think this can help me get all my motivation back and hopefully fix some leaks. I doubt I'll renew the subscription because $100 is quite a lot, but if it helps a lot then I will probably do it every few months. TCOOP is also starting in 3 days so I will also run through some hh's using ICMIZER, a fantastic piece of software indeed

I don't play cash anymore, I've not done for years.

I recommend to anyone that has to ask this question to probably stick to the tight side. Playing laggy isn't really easy any more at reasonable stakes. Everyone has a hud if they multi table and if they aren't then they're paying attention. The decent regs will adapt quickly if you're getting out of line a lot.

I rarely play LAG because I'm playing a lot of tables. When it gets to the later stages and everyone has 20bb's then I really open up, most people play too tight at the later stages trying to ladder or just being a pussy in general. At finals I just play my best and if there aren't any capable regs then I will go pretty mental.

Not really an easy question to answer I'm afraid Sad.

What is ICMIZER? What areas of your game does it improve?
