I was getting a fair old ear bashing yesterday regarding time spent playing poker, stopping up all night and not going to bed until 5am etc etc etc.

It occured to me that surely i cant be the only one to suffer.

Any hits or tips on how to calm the waters and keep the other half sweet ?

To date ive tried the following but they only seem to give short term brownie points!

1:  The occasional hols/shopping trip paid for by the bank roll.
2:  Getting her into poker and setting her an account up with 200 quid (shes not too bad actually... now got 350 !!)
3:  Going part time at work to play poker... so when she asks me to do the washing up i can say  ... "Not now dear I'm working!" .... this one did not work!

Lose potential bankroll via divorce, build it back up again.

Painful, in more ways than one, but quite a motivation these days.

To those who manage to combine a happy married life and the anti-social parts of poker, mainly the hours and the travel, my congratulations!

I made mine very happy, I gave her a house and a decree absolute. No complaints about me playing poker.

lol

nowadays i juggle my responsibilities to my kids with my work and my poker. I am proud to say that I have never, and will never put poker before my obligations to being as good a dad as I can be in my kids lives.

loool, Have to agree with you tightend my son Jakob is the only thing I put before poker. I have missed 3 festivals this year I was going to go to because I have him every other weekend. He is 6 now and already understands the basics of poker and even plays the odd hand online for me. If ever on a weekend someone bets 699 quid into you on a busted draw it was Jakob honest  Wink
