Greyhound Derby 2014 - Fantasy Kennel CompetitionI ran this competition last year and it was well received so I thought we should go with it again. Last year's thread:
http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=61133.0The competition costs £20 to enter, by bank transfer, and you will randomly be assigned a number of greyhounds (probably 6-10) to form your 'Fantasy Kennel' with points given to you based on their performances throughout the competition. Each person can have up to two entries.
The Greyhound Derby 2014 begins with the first round races on Thursday the 1st, Friday the 2nd and Saturday the 3rd of May with the competition running throughout May, culminating in the final on the 31st. All races are available to view I believe with the first two rounds on RPGTV on the RP website and Sky channel 212, with the rest of the competition live on Sky Sports.
There are 212 greyhounds entered this year and a simple explanation of the Derby is that they race in each round with (usually) 3 greyhounds going through from each race until we are left with 6 for the final.
No skill necessary to enter and I will update after each round.

Points System:1st Round Heats 1st place: 5pts; 2nd place: 3pts; 3rd place 1pt - minus 5pts if eliminated at this stage
2nd Round Heats 1st place: 10pts, 2nd place: 6pts, 3rd place: 3pts - plus 5pts if eliminated at this stage
3rd Round Heats 1st place: 15pts, 2nd place: 8pts, 3rd place: 5pts - plus 8pts if eliminated at this stage
Quarter Finals 1st place: 20pts, 2nd place: 13pts, 3rd place: 7pts - plus 15pts if eliminated at this stage
Semi Finals 1st place: 25pts, 2nd place: 17pts, 3rd place: 10pts - plus 20pts if eliminated at this stage
Final 1st place: 75pts; 2nd place: 60pts; 3rd place: 50pts; 4th place: 40pts; 5th place: 35pts; 6th place: 30pts
Additional Rules
- if your dog is withdrawn before any round it is deemed to have been eliminated in the round it was due to race in.
