With a monster jackpot awaiting the winner next week, many people suggested we do it all again.

Dan Morgan has already agreed to do the payments, which he did last week, & very efficiently.

Hopefully, we can rely on Lord Grumpy to get us a discount, as he has the last few weeks.

The "Selection Team" does not get formally constructed, but it generally involves the usual suspects, & I hope they'll all be there for us again, they worked hard & diligently to come up with the selections.

Good luck all.

No harm in giving people a choice and having 2 separate perms.

Don't be assuming we were backing the first 3 in the market though.  People can check back, but we had at least 2 that were 16/1 in the morning, and several others 10/1 up.  Think we dropped maybe 4 of Adz's choices.  I had to balance that against Chompy's and Neil's picks.  Think race 5 I had to pick from 7 horses for instance.  I only added 2 horses of my own.

Will happily go through every race on the old thread to explain why I made changes when I get home.

In for £50. Mr Morgan, please send me your bank details.

I think the best method is to assess each card on its merits. Yes, most of the selections will be in the first four of the betting (big field, exposed horse handicaps etc), but it doesn't mean every selection will be there. It also shouldn't mean we look for stuff that we know isn't there.

I'd never have got close to picking the six yesterday on my own. Well, I tried and I didn't, frankly!

I really don't think we need to be getting grumbly about it. It is a syndicate with a lot of knowledge but in a situation where the knowledge we have can only take us so far, against the mass of dead money in the pot already, when picking a horse with a 30% chance of winning that's 2/1 is likely a better pick than one with a 10% chance that's 50/1.

I honestly don't mind 1% if our pot going on a few £1 accas if anyone has a few ideas on big prices when the decs are out. Whatever happens, let's assess nearer the time and collectively make the best strategic decisions available.

One big perm way to go surely.
Winning it is what counts regardless of picks/selections. The value is in the bonus for the following week. Trying to be the only winning line by picking donk outsiders is a bad strategy for this bet.

im in for £200 if we collectively do one big perm Smiley
