DTD/ Nottingham. Accomodation

Hey everyone,
Was hoping for some recommendations of places to stay in Nottingham if going to DTD.
Hoping to get somewhere as close to dTD as possible.
Had a look devere seems to be only about 0.75 / 1 mile walking.
Not sure whether i'm driving down yet or getting the train.
If getting the train is it better to stay in the city centre? If not getting the train, i'll try a place that has got free parking.
If staying at the devere hotel, is it possible to walk to DTD or is it all main roads/ no walk ways?
Thanks

Think the Travelodge Riverside is the nearest and is easily walkable with no main roads. Has loads of parking, as does DTD.
Cabs are about a fiver to most hotels.
I use Holiday Inn/Premier Inn Castle Marina but it is about 5 mi drive from DTD.

try MET
Depends on your budget really
B and B's in Beeston from c£35 a night (Hylands, Fairhaven) through to Travelodge/Premier Inn at £50-60 to Holiday Inn at c £75
cabs from all these are under £10, all have free parking
personally, i avoid the city centre. the marina hotels (travelodge. holiday inn) are the most popular for DTD visitors

Jury's inn is good if your getting the train, right next to the station and <£10 taxi to DTD.

Hylands is ok but you can have some really bad room draws. Some of the floors / walls are really thin and for some reason it seems to attract people who like to scream and run down hallways at 8am on the way to breakfast.

I've stayed at the de vere recently, wasn't at all expensive yet very nice, it's a toss up for me whether I stay over or drive home for multi day events, places like that for the money sure beats an hour and a half either way in the car
