Poker Stars, $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $183.45 (366.9 bb)
BB: $23.12 (46.2 bb)
UTG: $50.60 (101.2 bb)
MP: $43.19 (86.4 bb)
CO: $78.20 (156.4 bb)
Hero (BTN): $90.49 (181 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with
2 folds, CO raises to $1, Hero calls $1, SB folds, BB calls $0.50

Flop: ($3.25) two spades (3 players)
BB checks, CO bets $2.25, Hero raises to $6, BB folds, CO calls $3.75

Turn: ($15.25) (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $9, CO calls $9

River: ($33.25) (2 players)
CO checks, Hero...

So, this guy is playing 21 17 over a pretty small sample. Do we like betting the river here? I feel, irrespective of the outcome, that his range is pretty capped here and we are pretty uncapped, so betting should be fine/better than checking back. That said, everything has missed and this is a pretty massive brick, so do we expect basically everything that called the turn to be calling the river too?

Think the only stuff that folds river is missed draws.

That said, you've got 6high like and some of them (read: all) busted draws still beat you...

Is there a decent argument then for betting really small to fold out this portion of his range?

i think you have to consider how much of your percieved raising range otf beats 9X here, and how often you're continuing with less than TPTK on the turn. board has ran out really bad for someone who raises flop here. because you would have a ton of draws in your range.

if you value bet river you rep so so small. set of ducks, 97 maybe 77 aswell. if your thinking of betting small OTR i cant see villain folding much at all. i cant see how villain will have that many draws in his range either that b/c flop and turn. only spades and JT?

pre he opens prbably  89+ 44+ and b/c continues twice with probs 9X+ 88+ JT and spades.

Raising flop is fine against people who continue b/f shit like KT otf. but when he calls the raise 100% give up on the

oh and i don't like raising flop, could be cool on rainbow textures with better turns such as T>

Yeah, I agree should be checking back the turn in hindsight, definitely not the best card for us to continue on. I've been playing about with getting funky on boards like this recently though, little PLO concept from one of Phil Galfonds videos about going after draw heavy boards that I think can apply to hold em. Think we have to have one of the best hands for doing it here too.

his range is not capped

this

3b > call pre too if you're gunna play this hand I think

There are so many busted draws that you're gunna get looked up with a big %age of his bluffcatchers and he can also have all of the sets, Q9, 97 so I give up river

Probably me being a little results orientated in using the word "capped" :p. I checked it back, he rolled over 86ss and I felt like a pussy.

pre flop is too loose to call, 3betting is a good option for board coverage and playability reasons.
