So if I wrote you a note asking you to meet me at 00.00 would you arrive during the day or during the night?
NB: No wisecracks about not wanting to meet me at any time please.

Isn't the first minute of the day 00:20 here?
Sadly, it seems to be 12:20.

I wouldn't want to meet you at any time.If you were operating on a 24 hour clock it would be during the night; if you were operating on a 12 hour clock it would be an evens shot apart from any factors I could deduce about whether you would prefer to meet me at midday or midnight. That's all irrelevant anyway, 12:30 should be 00:30; I can see no logical argument against this. At best it's an antiquated reflection of analogue watches/clocks with the number 12 at the north pole.

To avoid confusion your note should say midday or midnight not 00.00

Nobody says midday. "I'll meet you at twelve-noon" would be more usual.

so at 12:30am/00:30, if I ask you the time what actual words do you reply with? "half past midnight" or "half past twelve"

An opinion piece from Mr Mere?
About time.
I try to avoid flooding Blonde with my opinions. People's time is precious; after all there are only 24 hours in a day. Not at Sky there isn't.

Even MerePernickity & Red "About Time" Dog (decent punnage to be fair) will be stumped by that. Sky TV have Shows that start @ 24.00, 25.00 & even 26.00 Stick that in their pernickity pipes.
