2 away from the bubble! I'm not bothered about the jump in money, just want to give myself a shot at winning it...

Is this the right pass? I know i am getting a caller, but easily could get 2! have to admit did'nt like the first guys raise because i was'nt sure what hand he would raise that amount with.

Fold. You didnt have enough chips to get him off the hand, which he shown he was going all the way with his hand anyway.
I would want to be opening the raise not calling it with 77 with your chip stack

Yeah i thought i was prob ahead but no chance of getting him to pass... so would rather push in next couple of hands where i may not get a caller!

Two class players, so it must be right somewhere between us!

Folding or all-in are both perfectly good plays.  I'd personally have gone all in here due to my low chipstack as if I don't before the blinds go through me then I become an auto-call and lose any folding equity.  I don't shy away from 50/50's on a final table as the payouts are so top heavy.

shouldnt be calling an all in here at this stage whenat best you are 50-50 heads up - even less as there were 3 of u in the end in the pot (although only 1 when it came round to you)

Got to wait for another point when you are pushing and you have some fold equity.

What a mess of it that meleth made - to lose all 30,000 of your chips on a KToff - terrible play. 

I know he has done the traditional 3 times BB raise but i think when blinds are this big that you dont need to bet that big to pick up blinds.  Anything between 2 and 2.5 should still do the trick (and avoid callers) and if you then get re-rasied you will not be as committed as he was in this scenario

Automatic all in for me based on your stack in relation to the blinds. I've seen your all in in worse spots ian so i am surprised you pass here.

Yes i have defo pushed with worse... but i am the first raiser in those spots!

This one i am guaranteed one caller and the other stacks can call aswell.

Of course you would rather be first in but you are about to lose a 3rd of your stack to the blinds with odds against you picking up a better hand.

You are a far more succesful player than me so i have no doubt you made the right decision but for me i'm all in.

But i would rather push allin with j9 say the next hand when i can still make people fold!

Thing about the 77 is that i am 50/50 at best with no chance of making the guy pass, if we both had a big stack i would probably raise him! As i can make him pass better hands than me...

I do think its marginal either way, i would just like peoples reasoning either way.

absolutely - if you are going to be playing marginal hands then you want some fold equity.

I certainly would rather raise with J9 than call with 77 at this stage
