New series starts tonight 9pm channel 4 and two of our best family friends are on it! They have built a glass box on the side of a hill in cricceth north wales. I went a few times to help out with painting etc, the skirting boards were my master price so keep a look out for how good they are  Let me know if you are watching and what you think! Don't want to give spoilers away but will happily answer any questions I can after the show! |

how many times did kevin visit from start to finish of the build?
did the TV production team make any demands of the family beyond filming access?

Not sure on the exact number of times he visited the plot. They probably had 10-15 at a guess all over like "at work" "on site" etc. They had an agreement that any major things would be filmed and if anything went majorly wrong they needed to call as the film crew would come straight down. Yes, the demands were very stressful. Will go into more detail post show! |

Yeah I enjoyed before and crazy to think our friends are on. We have had two seperate lots of family friends build houses in the past 5 years both would be described as "grand designs" and both have said never again!!! Think the thing I would do if I was doing it was have double the budget and time that I needed when I set out on the project! "Just in case" |

I don't think I've ever seen one of these development programs that comes in on budget or time, I think I'd definitely have a substantial contingency pot should I ever be in the position to do it.

I don't think I've ever seen one of these development programs that comes in on budget or time, I think I'd definitely have a substantial contingency pot should I ever be in the position to do it.
They don't get anything, the advantage is being able to do deals with traders etc to have their brand on channel 4. As far as I'm aware no Kevin didn't have any input, they reported that he was a really nice guy though. They really seemed to get on with him lots tbh and were always visably excited when he was coming to film! |

No idea actually, will ask when I'm home (currently on holiday)! The house is built on the edge of a cliff, I'm sure they will want to go back as it gets closer!! |

They finished about 3 weeks ago. The last two months were madness basically because channel 4 had said it has to be done on the xth August as we are coming then to film to go out today.
