Havent seen a thread here yet, so got to get one going for the Ryder Cup.

USA or Europe? Scores? Pairings?

Personally id send Gallagher and Poulter out first. Only Scot out there on the first tee, with the most pumped up player in the side. Would be a great way to get on top of the Yanks.

What else do we think??

Could be Absolutle recipe for disaster, sending out a rookie scot who will be the most nervous person there with somebody in the about the worst form out of the 24.

Think he'll go safe and send out rory and sergio together followed by mcdowell and westy followed by kaymer and stenson then I think he'll go for gallagher and rose.

rory/sergio out first...try to get 1-0 up and send the message

stenson/kaymer

Rose/Poulter

McDowell/Westwood

get the rookies out in the fourballs, possibly swing Duboisson out there with another rookie and tell them to blast away for birdies

I agree it could tits up, but Poulter has always risen to the occasion, so I dont see his form being an issue. Plus, the scot might be up for it too. Think he will go safe, but would be a great way to get the crowd pumping!

I dont think getting the crowd going mental is essential to be honest. I kinda cringe a little sometimes when I hear woop wooping on a golf course, certainly in europe! The most electric iv ever felt with a crowd was Clarkey in 06, the genuine respect and love from the crowd fired me and everyone else right up a lot more than bubba lifting his arms then spanking his t shot 40 yards right.

There are only two nailed-on pairings for me, Poulter/Rose and Sergio/Rory.

Lot's of other possible permutations.

The highlights from 2 years ago were on bbc 2 earlier. Jesus, I forgot how good it was! I couldn't help but celebrate when Rose sunk that monster putt on the 17th to pull it back to all square!

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this anywhere, yet, but Ian Poulter loves the Ryder Cup.

Setting the line on that being said this weekend at a million.

Have backed the other lot because I believe it's momentum oriented and I just don't buy that the USA win only once in three. Mug puntistry at its finest.

Nevertheless, hope Europe win to nil.

I actually like the idea for the first lot of 4-balls but I do think that will be it.

Are you saying that Poults is in the worst form of all 24 players?

What exactly made you draw that conclusion?
