Playing live last night.

£50 FO at local casino, 3k Gtd. Final Table. Nine players, pays to 9 places. 1st is £1040. 9th is £100, 8th £120. 7th £140. 6th £170.

We've in the first level on FT and have just lost the bubble (started 10 handed)

I think the blinds were 12,000/24000 with 1k ante.

Most stack sizes are only 10-20 bigs, usually like this in this comp by the time we get to FT. I have over average, approx 400K. Two short stacks < 10BB. Three bigger stacks than mine.

UTG shoves all in . He is one of the short stacks, I know him and know he is very loose and very aggro and is shoving here simply because he can't afford to go through blinds again.

UTG +1 then announces all in. He is second chip leader and has me covered. He's a good player and I know he's making the move to isolate with his hand.

Next player then shouts "I'm all in" and has his chips over the line before the player before has even finishes speaking. This guy has been telling people all night what they are doing wrong and talks a better game than he plays. He is third in chips.

I look down to find QQ.

Two of the three all-ins have me covered.

Do I call all in, or do I fold here, and please tell me the reasoning behind your decision?

I'd fold jacks quite quickly and AK. Probably caking with kings so queens are the line.

Think if I'm playing well in a live comp such as this Id find the fold.

Fold immediately. I'd be amazed if you're not dog to the field, plus ICM.

Not to mention when live players do that immediate, proud proclamation when they're the third player to be all-in, they just have aces. Although the fact that you've posted this on PHA means they probably didn't. Fold either way.

Yes, yes and yes.

I couldn't see how third player doesnt have aces there. I folded.

Hands were UTG 66 UTG +1 88 Player 3 AK soooted.

Flop was of course A, Q 2.

Rubdowns for rest of the night from Mr AK pointing out how I would have won. At one point I did take the bait and point out 9 times out of ten the third player to go all in there can only have a better hand... He said "Yes you were right I did." Then went on to tell me how "made up" he was and how he couldn't believe his luck when he saw two people, including one bigger stack, all in before him when he had AK, plus it was suited obviously...

Still feel correct fold, wish I'd not seen the flop afterwards of course! But every othe rplayer criticised me afterwards and told me I couldn't fold there, so really I wanted opinions from players who maybe have more understanding of the game. Thank you.

I'd fold queens in a heartbeat. Depending on live reads, I'd be prepared to fold kings.

I think you have to back yourself to get your money in with >60% as often as you can in these comps, from a combination of better shoving/calling ranges and better reads/poker nous. Don't see the point of having a five way stackfest, when all you're doing is losing tournament equity.

Most importantly, though, I would wait to see what came on the board and then lie about what I had.

Hi Miss CC
My biggest fold ever and haunts me to this day was with QQ in the BB, 13 left in Monty Carlo, got avg Stack, prob easy fold as only got BB invested in pot, four all ins per flop I fold the ladies, AA, AK, JJ and 99, turn queen river queen, what a life.

Yeah definitely a fold in this sort of live comp where most people are going to be reshoving/peeling way too tight with their 10-20bb stack so you can just raise/fold all day long and chip up nicely
