Tighty is thinking the same I did when I proposed it. Would expect a lot of the TFT regsr to take a few entries etc, whereas it could entice people like myself (I know I'll have one for a start) who might see £20 as a bit much but can flick in a £5er.

I'm happy to help with any organising if required but it looks to me as though Tighty has got this all in hand.

I'm happy to take £25 if needed or £5 if there are lots of interest, whatever, just for an interest.

That squares idea seems very strange to me in a game with literally hundreds of events within the event you could select from.

Would be like having a Royal Ascot comp where the entrants horses were picked by drawing the numbers of the runners randomly instead of making some selections yourself.

Surely the only real sweat in hoping some random numbers happen to be the score at the end of the qtrs only gives you a sweat near the end of each qtr and none at all if you can't win?

Match winner, total points,Individual Player props, TD shirt numbers, first TD scorer, last TD scorer, MVP etc, total quarter points. First scoring play, last scoring play. Rush yards match ups, rec yards match ups, pass yard match ups etc. most of those give you game long sweats where almost every play will count towards the total of one/more of the selections. Doesn't sweating almost every play have more fun than I've drawn 8 and 2 and got very little chance of winning and don't really need to follow it until the last few mins if each qtr?

We could knock about 20 over/under or yes/no markets up in no time too if you wanted to go down that route.

You can yes

the squares format is very common in things like office sweepstakes over there, where people might not have a lot of football knowledge...bit like the equivalent of a grand national sweepstake

a lottery, not a skill process, in effect

happy either way, will enter either...it just depends what people prefer

They were my original suggestion, Phil, but I'm not sure how you turn them into a "Tipping Comp" or Sweepstake really. We want to get "Non-NFL experts" involved, too, & if it is a pure skill thing, they won't be interested, or even know how to enter. We must remember the Marky's of this world.

Well you can have 10-20 player prop types along the lines of.

Will Rob Gronkowskis total receiving yards be over or under 85 1/2 yards.

You don't really need to follow the game to understand that and it's a yes/no answer. if you are watching your first NFL match ever you still know that catching a ten yard pass is good for you if you have picked over and bad if you are sweating the under.  If you had even 6 or 7 player props from each team then every play is likely to change the running total of one of the participants.

On markets like match winner, total points first TD scorer, MVP etc we can list the betting markets so even if it is your first NFL game you can see the more likely outcomes.

Wouldn't that be more of a comp than cheering on 8-2  as the first quarter score as that is your only realistic chance of winning if you draw 8 and 2. Or scores like 12-8, 18-2, 18-12, 22-8, there are going to be loads of numbers that never even get a sweat ( still too early to mention last weekends game did end with an 8 and a 2?)

that comp would really be something you barely followed during the game and just looked at afterwards to see if you won owt imo.

In for anything.

And in for both.

As many things to sweat as possible in something like the Super Bowl.

I like to be on both teams and both QB's overs and unders if possible. This is known as the reverse eso I believe?

Would be a shame if it didn't.
Let me know if you need any help in running it.

I think the 10 or 20 yes or no would be good.

Anyone who knows NFL can use their judgement and feel that there is some skill involved.

Anyone who knows absolutely nothing can just guess and is at no real disadvantage.

Also it will give us lots of different things to sweat during the game.
