Dan and I will be doing the Forest of Dean parkrun next Saturday (7th). Course looks quite fun. Probably more of a parkwalk for me as I haven't run at all since Paris Marathon last April.

My Sheffield attempt was stopped today, snow don't you know.  Gravesend next week  then.

I signed up for Parkrun back last summer, but shamefully, have yet to do one.

This thread might spur me on to enter.

I did Upton court parkrun in Slough on Saturday, managed to slide round as it was a bit muddy to say the least.

Planning to volunteer next week in nottingham, as I haven't done so yet and they need people to help run the events.

Anyone in for this we? I have missed a few but intend to have it this Saturday, hoping to give my PB a scare.

Will be somewhere parkrunning, depends on what we are doing Saturday daytime. Original plan was that we were going to run St Albans but may have to stay closer to home.

Time to dust of the old park run daps, anyone else having a go tomorrow?

Sub 26.30 would be nice, so 26.29 is the target Smiley

A nice time, clearly you have some background in running. What's you story, young, old, cross country, marathon, road? always ran, play others sports?  19.39, in a previous life I was doing that but no longer but I do miss those days.

Steve

Had a lovely run and ran quiet sensibly and got the pace about right. Completed it in 25.06 which was a surprise, had nothing left in the tank at the end.  They really are charming events, so welcoming,  will do a lot more for the remainder of this year.

Do it!

I warn you a lot of people find it addictive. I have been at a parkrun every Saturday morning this calendar year apart from one weekend.

Nice one. That's impressive.  It's also great to see something that's free for people to do.

I ran Hallam earlier in the year, it is right near the student area of Sheffield which brought back memories for me. It would be quick if it didn't get such big number 700+ the day I went and the course just isn't wide enough for that so you end up following a lot.

In fact I have done all the Sheffield ones if you want any more advice, Hallam is the flattest of them all.
