Why no discussion about that Monarch Airlines Airbus?

Incredible picture. Moving, too. Sideways.

Was it taking off or landing?

Am I being whooshed again, I ask myself?.......

It was attempting to land, in gale force winds.

No. You're not being whooshed. Why, was it a daft question?

I'm with Paul Potts on this one, tikay.

'Planes don't land on one wheel. They have one on the other side, too, so they can land on both. Much safer that way. Surprised you didn't know that tbh.

I almost replied to Tom's original question with "yes".......

Anyway I have a bone to pick with you. You just made a post on FRED, two sentences, two exclamation marks. Disgraceful. Bangorrhea is not something I expect from one so learned as you.

Each was entirely justified. I met a bloke in Vegas in June, he said he reads Fred every day (a lurker) and today he popped up with an empty the clip bet.

Spring onions aplenty, IMO.

It's fluff, & fill, like what you read in books.

But no exclamation marks, you note. Usually a sign of bad writing, see?

Any chance you can have a word with your old bosses about turning 861 into a Grammar Channel?

"Good evening. I'm Tony Kendall. Today, we are joined by special guest, Tal J. Talington, Esq., and he is going to talk to us for two hours about commas."

I reckon we'd get more viewers than The Terry and Gaby Show.

Jen Mason would be a fine studio analyst.

We once landed sideways at Gatwick it was a long time ago when we had the hurricanes. Ours was the last one into Gatwick the others were diverted. After landing the pilot did his announcement commenting that to think people pay a fortune to feel that scared!!. Not quite sure what his thinking line was but I sure crapped myself along with the trained trolly dollies who did not restrain from excercising their right to feel and express fear.

I'd watch it.
Speaking as someone afflicted with a particularly virulent strain of the aforementioned bangorrhea, I think it could be beneficial.

Wincanton Races, yesterday.

The 18 year old amateur jockey walked away unaided, if a little shaken.

It's dramatic but I would imagine that after the fence slowed him down he hit the ground at a fairly slow pace, a much less dramatic fall straight off the horse would probably be much more damaging (I would have thought)

Depends how he landed, he did a full 360. If he had landed on his head or neck, it could have been pretty nasty. Landing UNDER a horse is always the worry, of course. Brave, them lads, very brave.

He flew through the air with the greatest of ease.....

Space travel began in earnest on this day in 1962.....

It was not just the wrong thread, it was the wrong bloody day. (Now deleted).

Honestly, I'm losing the plot here.

I forgot my Online Banking Log-In yesterday. There was a "Forgot Password?" thing, so I tried that, & it wanted my Account Number & Sort Code. I had forgotten those, too.

I've had the same Bank Account & Bank Account number for 37 years, & I check it every single day.

My mind literally went blank for half an hour.

Off with you, I've got things to do.

Now, where was I?

A fire underground caused havoc in the West End yesterday, & many Threatre Shows had to be cancelled.

Here we see a firefighter desperately trying to quell the blaze.
