Not pleasant:

Quote
Poker player Mehmet Hassan 'killed for winnings'

A professional poker player was killed for his winnings after being lured into a honey trap by a young woman, a court has heard.

Mehmet Hassan, 56, was bound with parcel tape and a neck tie and then kicked and stamped to death in his north London flat in March 2014.

The most interesting part to me was this,

"The prosecutor told the jury that Mr Hassan's death was the "culmination of the ruthless greed" of Mr Jackson and Mr Chandler, who had been involved in two armed robberies at the same casino in South Kensington in January and February 2014."

I don't recall any media coverage of these robberies whatsoever...

There is also a video of them in the flat waving all the money around after killing him.

I hope they get life, and I hope life means life.

I've known Mehmet and a few of his brothers since the 1970's when they were known as the "ikky-fikky mob" who were famous for their card-tricks.

I even used to play with his dad Hassan in the old 5-card stud days.

Terrible way to die.

Found guilty with sentencing later this month

Just to set the record straight, my above post some time ago, looking back seems callous and cold. Obviously it's disgusting and sick that people would do that for a few quid. I don't quite know what I was thinking when I wrote that. Probably not sober!

"A woman who set a "honey trap" for a professional gambler who was kicked to death for his winnings has been jailed for 16 years.
Leonie Granger from Gillingham, Kent, was sentenced at the Old Bailey having been found guilty of manslaughter.
Her boyfriend Kyrron Jackson, 28, and his friend Nicholas Chandler, 29, were found guilty of murder and jailed for life with a minimum term of 36 years."
