On table Kendall (he gets the notional captain's armband), Seat 9 opens UTG to 13.5k and gets action in two spots, including - I am reliably informed - Mr Olympios in the biggie. Martynas Vitkauskas is the other player in seat 3.

5 K 3 is the flop.

A c-bet gets a caller only from Seat 3, as Mr Olympios folds. I would know the details of this c-bet, but I was accosted by the table skipper, who wanted me to pass on his expert play and how he has single-handedly overcome such incomparable adversity as not having flopped a set all tournament. Omaha players, eh?

Anyway, back on the table, the turn is a badugi six and 65k is pushed forwards in a confident "all of them" double-handed motion from our aggressor.

Vitkauskas thinks. What could he be doing this with? Any big pocket, ace king, must be something. "He's superpolarised here, fo sho", tikay doesn't say.

Vitkauskas calls with KJ. No good against a set of threes, I'm afraid, and Gregory Chambers doubles up.

On table 21, with the blinds still 2,500/5,000 (sorry, do at least try to keep up, Tal), Clive Jones opens under the gun (is this a new thing, by the way. I remember when we used to fold AJ and 88 under the gun...) to 12k, which is called by Adam Ford in seat 5.

In the big blind, Trevor Reardon dwells. Not much more. Out of position. He hands his cards over like he's just had to give away his umbrella in the pouring rain.

  three diamonds

Trevor now pulls a face like it's started raining custard. I'm no body language expert, but I can't help feeling he had some of that.

The aggressor now thinks for a while, after laughing with the half-giggly-half-infuriated chap next to him. He taps his shoulder (right hand to left shoulder - the right shoulder would have meant 5/1) and Ford checks behind.

Jones now tries to bet 25k. This is most irregular. I hold my eyebrow back, so as not to alert suspicion. No one's watching me, thankfully. Seat 5 questions what's happened and the dealer agrees that he deemed the tapping of the shoulder to be a check. Jones isn't impressed and gets no value on the turn, as his unintentionally delayed continuation bet takes the pot.

Jones then explains, politely, to the dealer and the table that he will only check by tapping the table. Anything else is just thinking. He demonstrates. The table nods in approval. We move on.

Sky Sports

Richard Orford is here. They couldn't afford a real commentator.

So I have been perambulating

There are some terrific tables. And tikay's

At oen end of the bottom tier i stood to watch a bit of the chip leader Matas Cimbolas play. After all, i might learn a thing or two, such is his live form going back over the last year

He is co-tabling with Skalie and Brammer

i watched, and Cimbolas and Skalie are the two biggest stacks at the table and the two most active

Cimbolas opened to 15,000 at 3000-6000

Gabriel Tuna called

"ahh, you again" said Cimbolas as if Blofeld stroking a white persian in a Bond movie

three clubs

Cimbolas 16,500

Tuna called

Cimbolas checks

Tuna 38,000

"i am sorry, but i have to do this" says Cimbolas

"because i know you have ace-king"

all this in a halting lithuanian-english that gives a frisson of menace to proceedings

he counts out 85,000 and looks at Tuna....

he smiles, shyly

and check raises

Tuna folds

Cimbolas gathers more chips. Tuna, harpooned, sinks back into his chair
