If so admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. Cheesy

At the moment King is a better player/defender than Campbell. Do any of you watch King? The guy is different class. Simply flawless (maybe his only flaw is that he plays for Tottenham!!!) He has speed, great on the floor, great in the air, great ball reading skills, the last couple of seasons he hasn't made one mistake. He would walk into any defence in Europe, Chelsea, Milan included!

Please don't leave Ledley...

I think the guy lacks pace and makes a few novicey mistakes through lack of expeiriance.
He can hold down a defence but i dont think he's anywhere near ready for the world cup.
Looks like theres a position for him though.

Lacks pace? You haven't watched him play. He is most probably the quickest centre half in the Premier league. Including Gallas and Ferdinand.

As for novice mistakes. The last mistake he made was against Australia in February 03 when we played them in a friendly at West Hams ground.

your talking about an international ric, he only plays about once every three years so that would be about right.
just dont think he's classy enough though.

disagree Nemesis - yes he is a great centre - back - but he does make novice mistakes and i sometimes think his mind drifts.

Pace is decent but not superb. He probably needs to be a bit more arrogant and confident.

Problem as i said in another thread is that nowadays even the best centre-backs are being found out by raw pace and skill - even from average footballers - look at Campbell last night!!!

Terry, Woodgate, King, Campbell, Ferdinand, and Carragher (altho Carragher to a lesser extent) are all great centre-backs, but they all still make too many errors.

But then so does Ayala, Lucio, Gallas, Maldini, etc etc

Where all these mistakes? I haven't seen one and I watch every game he plays in, the full 90 mins.

As for pace, like I said earlier, his pace is second to none in the Premier league. A good example of this was against Norwich last season. When he overtook Darren Huckerby ( runs 100meters in less than 11seconds), who had an open goal and cleared the ball of the line. Everyone remembers his poor defending in that Australia game a couple of years back. Also, a few people blamed King for Charlton's second goal at the Valley earlier on this season(when SPurs won 2-3 after being 2-0 down), but in fact it was Robinson's fault for being to close behind King just before Bent curled the ball into the virtually empty goal.

He does have pace no doubt. My problem is his delivery once he has the ball. I have no doubts he can cut it at centre half, but after winning the ball in a holding role you need to be able to pass, like Keane, Vieira, Makelele can. King can't!

Great centre half but just not the man for the holding role.
