FWIW I think the journo is 100% correct.

For a team in the bottom 3 for most of the season Leicester/Pearson have almost completely avoided criticism.

Pearson has some sort of issue- egomaniac or something. His general conduct is very strange

Pearson took a fair bit of flack for sitting in the stands when Leicester were rock bottom. I don't really think that any of the newly promoted teams have taken that much flack though which seems fair.

A couple of my housemates are Leicester fans and they've said that he didn't really get up to much in the way of antics in the championship. If its deliberate to keep the spotlight away from specific players it seems to have worked.

Teams like Sunderland, Newcastle and Villa have seemed to take the most flack this year, deservedly so I think?

He always seems to have a huge chip on his shoulder.  Def needs Anger Management training imo.  Like camel says his team results wise were dreadful for months and didn't receive anything like the flack QPR did for example.  I think stats wise and from Tighty's reports they were playing better than their results early in the season but even so they never took any real flack from where i was standing.

Everytime i look at him i just think he is 1.01 to be a wife beater.  No idea why he just gives me that impression.

I actually quite like Leicester as a club but Pearson makes me want them to go down. Seems a horrible man.

very complex man

in public surly, mulish and prickly

in private apparently much more clubbable. very loyal to his friends and inspires a lot of loyalty in his players

whilst nationally there wasn't a great deal of criticism thats more of a "smaller club in a big league" thing with promoted sides  expected to struggle

locally he was heavily criticised for team selections and tactics october-february and the summer transfer strategy was attacked too

he fell out with the BBC man over this and now refuses to give BBC Radio Leicester interviews. to my mind the radio manw as only doing his job

the whole press conference stuff embarrasses me, but plays very well with Leicester fans many of whom delight in it.

i am in two minds if the whole thing is designed to foster a "us against the world" mentality or not

sooner or later, and probably sooner if we go down, it will go too far and he'll be sacked

would expect him to be in heavy demand from sides 15-40 in the ladder then though as his record compares well to many (outside the established premier league sides)

What?  Can't believe this thread - I love Pearson.  Think he's a great manager and I like that he always appears on the verge of going nuts.

I remember the absolute dignity he showed after the Watford semi final when Knockaert missed that pen and Deeney scored at the other end.

I'd take him at Watford in a shot

I also chuckle when I think of him randomly garrotting that Palace player in his technical area for no apparent reason whatsover Smiley

I've always liked Pearson and still do but it might be a good idea for him to let someone elso do the post-match interviews.

I really like his style in interviews. He seems always to be searching for the right word in giving a considered response, but you just know that underneath it all he's having to fight to stop himself from laughing at the question.

Would pay money to see him and Garth Crooks across a table a la Smith & Jones.

That's a first for Blonde, somebody wanting to see Gareth Crooks do anything except disappear.

+1 for Pearson

Solid manager who's done a great job at Leicester despite the odds. The journos ask him the same "in yer face" questions every week. He's under massive pressure. Wish the managers stuck it to the press like this more often!

Allow managers to say whatever they want IMO. Much more interesting that way
