From the bands I knew really enjoyed Vaccines, Maccabees, Motorhead, Suede, Slaves - enjoying it vicariously cause my son is there - wish I was 25 again :-(

Best find for me was Young Fathers - incred live performance

You don't need to be 25 again. I was 53 for my first Glasto, and although I've missed last year and this I plan on doing it again.

Yah, fair point, but my knees hurt

When you were 25, would you have still gone despite hurty knees?

PS- This is a deep, serious question.

Yah, fair point, but my knees hurt

After a week of sleeping in a tent, hiking large distances across the site and three eight hour shifts on my feet checking entry and reentry entitlement EVERYTHING hurts. But it's worth it.

Last few times we went to Download, I took my caravan.  She was bought specifically to go to to Download in after camping a previous year.  Park right next to the van, comfy sleep, fridge, cooked food, bit of space outside to sit and chill, put the heating on if it gets cold Cheesy Proper way to do a festival!

Highlight yesterday by a mile was Vintage Trouble, possessed by the spirit of James Brown.

Bought their album after seeing them on Jools Holland. Not stopped playing it since. Superb outfit.

BBC coverage , as usual , is excellent. The live streaming is great.

Really looking forward to Steel Pulse on West Holts at 5.50pm

I wonder if John McEnroe will be there too as Wimbledon starts tomorrow.

I saw Patti Smith play at a really small venue in Toronto during the 1970's and I thought she was decent but not mind-blowing. Mind you there was some pretty stiff competition on the downtown bar-band circuit in that era from Paul Weller and The Jam to Muddy Waters.
