Managed to tremendously fuck up and send tikay and AndrewT the answers too. Copy and paste fail.

I can only accept the first set of questions you sent me.

So did I end up with different "general" questions to everyone else?

Ruling, RULING.

Mine are harder, much harder.

Unfortunately yes they're different from everyone else, but importantly, the same as your opponent. They're probably a touch more difficult as pinched from each of the specialist subjects.

Mine are harder, much harder.

Unfortunately yes they're different from everyone else, but importantly, the same as your opponent. They're probably a touch more difficult as pinched from each of the specialist subjects.

Seems unfair to me.

I suggest you get Andrew to answer his questions, & if he scores more than 18, he goes through. If he can't, I get a bye.

But in the spirit of the competition, I'll accept them as sent, & won't whinge if I lose. I would have scored a perfect 10 on the original 10 "general" questions.

Completely smacked in the face by the deck in that round. For a 40-something film loving foodie and ex rugby playing petrolhead whose first job was working for the sports company that sponsored Fredericks with a nephew who recently became a black belt, it was an incredible run of questions.

Unbelievable effort Longines really cannot argue going out to a perfect score and I actually scored the same as last round!!!

I did kind of blow it on the first 6 questions quite pleased to get to 12 out 20 when i was 1 out of 6.

I actually thought the same that the questions suited me but I still couldn't answer three of them!!!! That is mighty impressive sir. Very well played.

Answers SENT.

Far easier than I feared. The tie break was a bugger though - I only knew it in feet.

More than 10 will be happy.

Took me 2 hours on the Fredricks Question. Still annoying me as I had to guess.

Brilliant Quiz.

Well Played all and Good Luck Sharplea.

david3103 (History) vs. HutchGF (Food/Drink)

2nd Round Questions

1. Jimmy Carter was the 39th President of the U.S.A with George Bush the 41st, but who was the 40th?

1-1

2. In the "Ocean's" films (11, 12 and 13) who plays the character Rusty Ryan?

2-2

3. What type of animal can be found on the logo of an Alpha Romeo car?

3-2

4. Which is the smallest of the 8 planets in the solar system?

4-3

5. Which X Factor winner had the Christmas Number One in 2006 with the song "A Moment Like This"?

4-4

6. In anatomy, what is the scapula more commonly referred to as?

4-5

7. In which month is the Queen's official birthday?

5-5

8. "Alpha, Bravo, Charlie...." but what word represents the letter "P" in the NATO phonetic alphabet?

6-6

9. The Fat Duck Restaurant is one of only a few UK restaurants to have been awarded 3 Michelin Stars, but which famous chef is it owned by?

7-7

10. In which year did all the following take place: The Simpsons first aired on UK TV, John Major became Prime Minister, Nelson Mandela is released from Prison after 28 years, and the film Home Alone is released?

7-8

11. What is the name of the scale on which the pungency of chilli peppers are measured?

8-9

12. 'Ghoulash' is a dish originating from which country?

9-10

13. What spirit would you find in a 'Daiquiri' cocktail?

9-11

14. What is the main constituent of the dish 'Sauerkraut'?

9-12

15. "Carlsberg don't make quizzes...." - from which country does the beer Carlsberg originate?

10-13

16. In which decade did the RMS Titanic sink in the North Atlantic Ocean?

11-13

17. Who was the longest serving UK Prime Minister of the 20th century?

12-14

18. What was the name of the 1969 space flight that first landed man on the moon?

13-14

19. What nationality was the famous artist Leonardo Da Vinci?

14-15

20. In what year did Tony Blair become Prime Minister and Princess Diana die (same year)?

15-16

An excellent match where HutchGF proved the victor, winning 16-15 mostly thanks to his specialist subject choice. Hutch becomes the first player to make the quarter-finals whilst david3103 will have to do with waiting for Season 2.

Well done Hutch and good luck in the next round. Really annoyed about a couple of the wrong answers where I know that I knew the right one, but hey, that's the quiz.

I got a lucky break, I would have done far worse with the original set of questions that most others had to answer.

But you need these breaks if you plan to win these things.
