Shiels makes what already seems to be his standard open of 9k from the cut off. He is called by Chung in the big blind. All together now. Defense! Defence! Defense!

Flop is

Chung checks, Shiels fires 11k and that is called.

The turn brings  , offering up a second flush draw. Chung again checks to the leader. Shiels obliges with 23,500. Chung has had enough.

I was about to mock him, but Shiels then tables

That's how you get 300k, folks. Find the fold.

Granted, he probably had   again...

Think sleeping would have been better... Sad

Can I get a quick count on Mike Tranter please? He's at 38/4. Local player at the infamous Ellesmere Port Aquarium that Shogun runs, who apparently qualified for less than a tenner. Good guy. Just a pity he's a Bluenose.

GL GL  Natalie Bromley

I arrived at Natalie's table to find she was playing a bowl, after being in tidy shape overnight.

I mentioned this matter to her, which I gather she was already aware of, judging by the vitriolic reply & mean stare.

She then got her (40,000 ish?) in with J-J v 6-6 & held.

No need to thank me Natterley.

As Tighty has mentioned, the likely chip leader is Leo McLean. He has north of 700k. I've just watched a round on his table, also featuring runner up in the High Roller, Guy Taylor (my list of who sits where has yet to be updated, so apologies if I get any wrong, but I recognise that haircut).

Stacy Coore opens to 10k and is called by Matthew Noble in the 6 seat big blind.

They see a flop of

Noble checks, Coore cbets 11k and receives a call.

Turn  two spades

Check again, 15k from Coore (take the hint, son, he says with his body language).

Noble now check-raises to 50k. Coore thinks...thinks...calls.

River

Noble checks again. My head hurts at this point. What on Earth does he have? This is why I'm on the rail, of course.

Coore shoves his remaining stack in, which I make out to be around 130k. It's enough anyway, as Noble gives up.

Any ideas what either of them had? I don't have a scooby.

McLean is beaming from ear to ear at the moment. Hard to be surprised by this news, given he can barely see above his chips. Must be nice.

He couldn't be smiling more if he poured out a bowl of Frosties right now and got all the end bits perfectly topping his cereal.

My two choices for the tournament and apparently Mr Blacklock has subsequently found AA vs Dan's 99 shove...
