new order blue monday.




the cover was a 2 part inlay the had been pressed and punched to resemble a floppy disc.

they lost money on every LP sold.

it was the biggest selling 12" of the 80's

factory records didnt last.

the story of factory was brilliantly documented / satirised in film.

for those that dont know, the clash's famous london's calling album cover was based on elvis' first album sleeve.

Dream Theater released a live album in September 2001. It was called Live: Scenes from New York and went on sale on September 11th. The original album cover is below.



It was pretty quickly changed! As a result, the original cover is pretty iconic to DT fans (of which I am one).
