It's patently obvious to me that Jose has wanted to be sacked since day one this season but the question is why. He's courted controversy at every opportunity and has seemingly set his teams up to lose - stopping only to troll his old mate Arsene with the obligatory Chelsea win over Arsenal.
Conjecture of course, but I think he must have fallen out with Roman again in the Summer - perhaps over signings - and threatened to run the club into the ground. Roman feed him the line about spite making him see out his contract and Jose is pushing him to the limit. Seems the only possible explanation for such a precipitous fall from grace.
I wonder how much selling Cech to Arsenal against his wishes might have affected his relationship with Roman; might it even have been the catalyst?

So, the question is, can he survive?
He's a great headline maker, charismatic, & he'd be a loss to the Premier League, &
I'm sure even The Camel would be sad to see the back of him.

He obviously wanted the United job when Fergie retired.
To be honest I have no idea why he didn't get it, how could they give it to Moyes before him?

I don't think he is charismatic anymore. Since he came back to the Prem he's been an arse. He's is good entertainment though.
agree with this apart from the last bit. I don't even find him entertaining anymore. Just boring and classless
I hate to agree with talksport, but he is acting like someone who wants to be sacked and take his payoff.
He can then find another club for a (probably successful) 2 year project before the wheels come off again.
Trouble is, his teams play pretty much the same way and get found out after a few years. He is incapable of adjusting so just blames the players/press/fans/authorities/ (delete as appropriate)
Something tells me his obsession with Arsene is partly due to wanting him sacked so he can take over and lead them to a title.
+1.
Thought he was a breath of fresh air when he first came to the PL, but that has all changed in recent years. Really can't stand the guy, and it's very pleasing seeing Chelsea struggling. Long may it continue.

Jose is a classic case of a person who shat on all and sundry on the way up providing endless amounts of schadenfreud on his way down.

Fergie hand picked Moyes, didn't he? Fergie disliked Mourinho so wouldn't have him as the manager.

I thought they were quite close, with reports that they'd often share a decent bottle of wine after matches.

I'm certain they were close friends.
And I read somewhere Jose was incredibly hurt and upset when Fergie annoited Moyes.
