Last year was beginning of Feb. I would assume around the same time.

Hope the M/E starts the same week as last year.

previous main event start dates

2015  July 5th
2014  July 5th
2013  July 6th
2012  July 7th
2011  July 7th

highly unlikely it will start any time before last years date given the Americans obsession with July the 4th   Smiley

Does the series usually start at the same time? Chances are colossus will return?

Does this mean you won't be posting on the I'm Not Going To Vegas thread next year?

The 2016 World Series of Poker, which is entering its 47th year, will run from May 31 to July 18, 2016 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

While the full schedule for the 50-day series hasn't been released – it's expected to come in either January or February – officials have revealed several details, including the first open event of the 2016 WSOP – Event #2: Colossus II!

The wildly popular tournament, which attracted a record 22,374 entrants last year has been revamped to make it even bigger and better. Colossus II will feature a $7 million guaranteed prize pool (up from $5 million last year), two additional entry flights, and a guaranteed first-place prize of $1 million.

Colossus II, which maintains the $565 buy-in and will host starting flights on Thursday, June 2, Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4, will use the format successfully introduced at WSOPE's Oktoberfest event where each starting flight plays into the money, which opens up the possibility players could cash multiple times in the event

Also back on the schedule in 2016 are the popular Millionaire Maker, Monster Stack, Little One for ONE DROP, Seniors Event and Ladies Championship.

Of course the highlight on the schedule will be the $10,000 Main Event, which is slated to run over ten consecutive days from July 9 - July 18, 2016 and will feature three starting flights – Saturday, July 9; Sunday, July 10; and Monday, July 11.

The date is also confirmed for this year’s $1,000 Senior Event — for those aged 50 or older – which will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17.

I do wish WSOP would hurry up & get the schedule out.

I've been chasing it for ages, & it's getting a bit awkward.

I discovered today that the WSOP schedule has been released on the following dates in the last 9 years.......

2007: 9 Jan
2008: 12 Dec
2009: 26 Jan
2010: 17 Dec
2011: 25 Jan
2012: 1 Feb
2013: 14 Feb
2014: 11 Feb
2015: 2 Feb

Note the trend.

I'm understanding of the complexities involved, but people & businesses need to make plans.

they need every structure and payout approved for each event by the nevada gaming board before they can run with it apparently which sounds tedious.
