I've not noticed Barry Greenstein mentioned on any updates.

He's usually a fixture, I hope he's okay.

Seen him a good few times over the last month Ralph, playing most of the WSOP events as far I can tell.

Looking a little older, smaller, grumpier & greyer, but otherwise seems his normal self.

Sounds familiar; the older, smaller, grumpier and greyer bit.

He doesn't seem to have had many cashes then which might have enhanced the grumpiness.

I bet he's still lucky in love though..

20 minutes ago, presumably exiting the 888 thing - grumpier, greyer, smaller & blurrier.

Thanks for the 888 info TK.

Always amazes me how firms that 'sponsor' or are associated with events get so much from the players providing the prize pool and seemingly give nothing back apart from the odd free hoody or other branded gift that only serves to further promote their website.

They may have paid money to the series but what added benefit is that to the players that enter?

Almost everyone seems to have a beard these days, including James Akenhead, who was sat behind me on the flight across, but I've not set eyes on since until moments ago.

This is deep in the $3,000 affair, just 23 left I think.

Average stack is just over 700,000.

Michael Kane, who plays a lot Next Door, & in some style, also deep in the $3,000.

I spotted Danny Rudd, said hi, & we chatted for a moment or two. He had 650,000, with the average at 700,000, so I wished him well & congratulated him on having a great shot at this.

Barely moments later, he exited in spectacular fashion with A-K v Q-Q when it ran out A-A-2-7-Q.

Wish I had not bokked him so awfully.

It depends on the deal, Greg, sometimes the sponsor guarantees the prize pool or whatever, though that is not the case here, or I would not imagine it is.  To be fair, it is not sponsored by 888, they are "Official Partners" of the 2016 WSOP as a whole. So they presumably paid the WSOP a chunk of money in return for branding rights. And WSOP keep that money, naturally.
