Is this the same as live grand prix's.  You auto make the money by making day 2 whatever your stack and part of the prize is another GP ticket for a future event.  Anyone know?

$109 gp ticket is part of each prize. There are more online grand prixto use that on if you don't want to travel. Don't think this one is guaranteed day 2 cash

I don't mind the ticket as part of the prize with the online options.  The big issue is the day 2 cash if you get close to the end of day 2 with sub 10 bigs it isn't worth playing a hand at all and just folding/time banking into day 2 given the incredibly flat pay out structure.  Surprised it hasn't been made clear given it is automatic with the live day 1's.

You also see a lot of the medium stacks taking their time near the end of the online day 1s too, it's all part of the strategy sensible players employ. I like the fact that the roll the blinds back and they're taking them back even more for this online leg.
The goalposts are constantly shifting in these GPPTs but I've never seen anyone complain, probably because of the incredible value DTD give out all over the place.

The goalposts shift, so you just have to adapt.

I don't mind the goal posts shifting.  I just want to know when they shift and what the rules are before the games starts!  I can then play the correct strategy at the end of day 1 dependent on the pay out structure.  Hard to adapt as a 'sensible player' when you don't know the rules which is why i asked the question.

Hi guys,

We have only ever done min cash for making Day 2 for Live Events as part of the Main Tour.

We take through a lot more than 10% in Online Legs so would have a skewed payout if we were to do so.

Cheers.

Fair enough. DTD are in a difficult position because they don't know for sure how many will get through. I think it's good to have some bubble play for D2s online, but live (and associated traveling costs) no thanks!

The payouts live aren't as flat as they used to be - I couldnt go to Leeds so qualified a short stack of 25k there to blind out. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I went up two pay jumps when I received the cash in my account!
