Young gun goes for it

this is Tom Haney, renowned as one of the up and coming regulars both at DTD and on the scene, son of Daryl and Vanessa both DTD poker players

i arrived at Tom’s table as, UTG, he led out 3,300 into a 6,000 pot on the river of a board reading

only to be met by a Raise from Russell Betts to over 11,000.

Tom thought and thought, his expression unmoved, and eventually folded

Battle lost, but still a long way to go in the war ahead…

A look at the high roller

the high roller resumed at 1pm and players have been entering that too (its open to 3.20pm)

walking around i saw…

new partypoker sponsored pro Natalia Breviglieri

Ben Dobson, Tom Mddleton and an awkward view of Dan O’Callaghan

Richard Herbert and a disguised Mick Fletcher

and a blurry Mitch Johnson and Andrew Hills

In the club

On the fifth table to open

Jamie Clossick and Stuart Fox side by side

whilst on the other side EPT 3rd Leo McClean has showed up, eager (and newly freshly shaven, he looked like a yeti last week) to do battle

Wotcha talking about Willis?

Jonty Willis calls a raise in the small blind with pocket sevens

Anthony Kennedy calls in the big blind

flop

Willis check calls 1,000 from Kennedy who has led into the raiser, who folds

turn

Willis check raises to 5,000, Kennedy goes all in setting Willis in

Willis call with the set

Kennedy having led his double gutter on the flop, hit on the turn and potentially stack a set

river to knock Willis out.

Nice. Unless you are Willis

I’m alright Jack?

Russell Betts opens to 1100

Tom Haney calls in the cut off

Noel Broadbent calls on the button

checked to Braadbent who makes it 2,000

call call

check check, Broadbent 3200

Betts folds, Haney calls

check check

Broadbent

Quote

i have a jack

Haney raises his eyebrows and nonchalantly flips which beats Noel’s

Foxy stuff

Stuart Fox opens to 1400 and Daniel Stacey 3-bets him from the small blind to 4800

Fx calls leaving himself 10,000 behind

Stacey leads 2500 on the board

Fox all in and Stacey fold

A couple of hands later Stacey is the raiser, and he is called in three spots button and both blinds

4 way action and the board is checked round

on the turn big blind Callum McCaig leads for 2500

Richard Paul on the button is the only caller

river

check check

McCaig shows which is good to win the pot

one off the guarantee

the high roller closed with 49 entries needing 50. Nt bad considering so many potential players are at EPT Barcelona

there are currently 31 left

the field includes:

Ben Jackson and Mitch Johnson side by side

skalie, Middy and Dan O’callaghan side by side on the next table

Berridge, actionjack, mick fletcher with steve jelinek on the middle table

Natalia with Wadey, chris sly, jon wong and rob woodcock amongst others

you can follow the progress of the tournament here

Have a break

the players in the 12pm flight are on a break after 6 levels

49 entries, 42 remain and registration closes at 4.40pm

I will stick with the early flight and keep an eye on the second of today’s flights. A reminder that posts for each flight are in a different section of the DTD site, the menu is on
