Isn't this basically the same format as the grand prix but with a different spin?

Hi Tighty

Is there any reason why you cannot play an online phase 1 and then a live day 1.  I am not near enough to Nottingham to justify the round trip for a phase 1 but much prefer playing live to online.  I assume that the live and online phase 1 structures are exactly the same (although i do note that there are slight differences to the millions live in Punta Cana to the online variants).

Otherwise i guess i am restricted to flex £550 sats and a day1 DBI.

Cheers

hello it is the case yes that online phase 1s lead into the online day 1 and same for live

i will ask the reasoning for this (it could be an administrative thing) and get back to you if i get anything useful

Phase ones start monday and in many ways with one online day one, one live day one and a turbo its back to an old style deepstack and trying to get a full club for the weekend day one rather than spread it over a gazillion day ones

i double checked this and yes its online phase 1 into online day 1 only and same for live

if you want to play a live day 1 you can qualify into it online from the nightly 5 x £550s if you can't play a live phase 1

I love DTD and some of the stuff they've done - but I just wish they'd take their foot off the gas sometimes. I know a few others that feel the same way too.

Please, just keep it simple and stop changing all the formats.

I understand where you are coming from with this. It's a fine line sometimes, between innovation & over-complication.

The December Deepstack is actually more old-school than recent versions.
Only three day 1's
One main day 1 (Saturday) where we hope to have a full club, & a great atmosphere
No day 2 buy in.

I remember the first Deepstack where there was one day 1, on a Saturday, , queues out of the door, long alternate lists & a great buzz around DTD. It would be great if we can recreate some of that this weekend. (Maybe not the long alternate lists though!).

And 100% of the prize pool was paid out in cash not 17% of it in seats into another event that I don't want to play and the buy in is 5-10times the price of the deep stack. Oh for the simple days of betting on cash and being paid out in cash. Imagine having £500 in cash on a horse and winning £6k and being told you are being paid £3500 in cash and £2500 in a free bet for a horse race in a couple of weeks or months you have no idea if you want to even have a bet but you are forced to..  this is the worst thing about

Hi Tighty

Thanks for the confirmation.

Trying to decide whether to play online phase 1/day 1 or DBI to Saturday's live day 1 and looking at the structure on the DTD site for the live day 1 and the structure of the online day 1 on PP there is a massive difference in the antes at all levels except level 1 culminating with level 12 antes of 1500 live and 600 online - that is 8100 per hand difference.  I am assuming that the antes as shown on the DTD site are incorrect and the online version is correct - this would seem to be supported by the antes on day 2 being 1000 in level 15.  Be grateful if this could be checked out.

Will probably have a shot at the online route (be interesting to see what stack sizes go through phase 1 live/online if that is available) and if that fails buy in direct on Saturday.

Live updates for this one?

Cheers

Thank you for the clarification.

A shame that you will not be doing the updates - they bring a humorous and informed perspective of the event and I always enjoy them.  Maybe be next time.

It's nothing like your horse bet example though is it. We know up front that part of the prize pool is seats so we can decide whether or not to play the event based on knowing exactly what the payout will be if we get lucky.

I pretty much quit DTD tournaments when they started to get over complicated but that's just I personally don't particularly like them. Hundreds or thousands still play them so I'm sure they'll continue this way for a good while yet.
