Parent and child parking spots are way way more tilting imo in supermarkets. I never think twice about parking in one of them but would never park in a disabled bay ever.
Who is more handicapped than someone struggling with young children? (Well, disabled obviously, but apart from that). I'm not sure whether you have experienced it but, if you haven't, I can tell you that it is very difficult and parking close to the door is a huge help.
When I had two children less than two years old, there were no parent & child spaces and I used disabled spaces freely (though only if there were still plenty of other disabled spaces left). Later, Councils obviously came to agree with my view and introduced p&c spaces. In the same circumstances, I would do the same again.
Thought the same as arb....until kids came along.
With twins especially, you need the extra space given either side of the car to get them in / out and sort them out etc.

The McCanns should be prosecuted.
Princess Diana dying wasn't sad.
The royal family should be abolished.
You can't abolish what is appointed by God
Abolish him at the same time
Him
Nope, "them" actually

Disabled Paring Bays having far too many spaces in front of the shops
.
Blue Badge holder who are clearly not infirm.
I need to start going to your shops, because I can never find one down here
half empty car parks but no cripple spaces kill me all the time. I would go and park in an empty corner of the car park but sure enough someone parks next to me so I can't get into my car on my return
Yeah, but there are way too many spaces for us
I love it when they fill from the furthest away first. Sure fire sign the users shouldn't be in them.
I'd be chuffed to see the one furthest away empty, nevermind the closest.
I normally just send my old man to do any shopping I need now, and that saves me having to play carpark lottery

i dont need my parking space closest to the shop my wheelchair means aslong as we are on the flat i can travel a fair distance
but what i do need and also parents with brats need is extra space, i need to open my 3 door car to its fullest extent so i can build my wheelchair then
transfer into it. I would park in a normal space if the space was side enough, and despite a sticker asking people to leave room even in an empty car park
some twat will park so close to my drivers door i cant even get my wheelchair in the gap never mind open the door.
so i always use the furthest away disabled parking spot when you have brats and these huge prams you need much the same room also needing to open doors wide enough to put on seat belts
as for shopping i very rarely do it (even rarer when there might be more that a dozen in the shop) but running out of stuff you need or want before you can get a delivery like the crate of beer
when you suddenly get a visit from a alcoholic also so much easier to get cash in tescos than using a card every time you want to spend a penny

Conor McGregor would beat Floyd Mayweather in a straight boxing match.
He's younger, hungrier, bigger and hits harder.
If he doesn't have to worry about his opponent's takedowns or kicks, he'd have a full training camp to focus on his hands and would be too much for Floyd.
Also, Floyd knows it and will never agree to the fight.

Fans of UFC greatly underestimate the skill level required in boxing matches.

People die all the time. It's getting tiresome with every news site and social media site being filled with OMG x has died.

And the way people post about people that have just died like they were best mates.
Within 15 minutes of it being announced last night I saw three people post they were devastated. How?

Because it reminds them of their own mortality.

Yeah this and also it is probably a (good) sign that for the most part westerners have privileged lives. The fact that so many people are 'devastated' by a celebrity passing away or Trump getting elected suggests to me that their actual life is going pretty damn well.

I'd love to know what the real reason is - it can't be that, shirley ?
Don't people just want to look like they care about shiz, when in reality most of us don't give a shiz about any shiz
I've been somewhat upset by a family member passing, I would be lying on the floor, unable to move, devastated by the death of a child or grand child I'm sure, I can get quite upset by scenes of suffering, even when I don't know the people, but never been close to dev'd by any celeb death - just seems utterly indulgent to me

All I see retweeted and liked on facebook is "2016, not again" etc etc
The fact is that for many people (lets say you voted for Brexit, aren't losing any sleep over Trump and aren't up on celebrity culture) its a perfectly fine year
the prevalence of media channels, the echo chambers of the like minded/unhappy on social media and the sheer numbers of celebrities reaching mortality just make people think we are in a sort of new paradigm
all that said, George Michael dying so young is a shock of course but the personalisation of it for people is a product of our times

Yep, think you're right about the personalisation being the product of our times. This makes more sense to me than the mortality thang

Setting the line at January 4 before I see '2017 gonna be just like 2016'
People love the drama, all want to be the one that breaks the news on social media.
