Hesp's hendonmob shows how ridiculous the Global Poker Index is.
Ten wins in the Sunday rebuy at Naps in Hull is equal to coming fourth in the biggest tournament of the year.

WSOP final table Chips........3 left
1 Scott Blumstein 226,450,000
2 Dan Ott 88,375,000
3 Benjamin Pollak 45,850,000
33-1 sweat for some with Ott....game on
To give that some context, blinds are 1,000,000-2,000,000 with a 300,000 Running Ante.
Bit like a level one at DTD.
made me lol

A random & probably junior journo at Poker Strategy published a really interesting piece this morning.
The numbers below are what the Finalists won, & how much they were left with after tax. So, for example, the winner "won" $8.15 milly, but after tax he will be left with $4.31 milly.
1st Scott Blumstein $8,150,000 $4,310,571
2nd Dan Ott $4,700,000 $2,600,194
3rd Benjamin Pollak $3,500,000 $3,500,000
4th John Hesp $2,600,000 $2,600,000
5th Antoine Saout $2,000,000 $2,000,000
6th Bryan Piccioli $1,675,000 $791,023
7th Damian Salas $1,425,000 $997,500
8th Jack Sinclair $1,200,000 $1,200,000
9th Ben Lamb $1,000,000 $591,517
You can see the full article here;

Well worth a look.

As a matter of interest, how does that ^^^^ affect the staking market?
If, say, an American purchased a 10% stake in the winner, how much would he get back? (Assume the buyer lived in the same State & was subject to the same tax regime).
And how does this affect the mark up? If (say) Blumstein sold at 1.2%, what rate is that after allowing for the tax "lost"?
