I rather enjoyed Day 1 of the Masters.

From late afternoon, I picked up coverage on the Red Button, very good it was too, no waffle, just golf.

A weird day for scores, with Rose out with the washing & a horror show for Casey.

Delighted to see a strong start for Poulter.

Even more pleased to see Woods play well & shoot a decent number.

I've become a bit of a Dechambeau fanboy, not quite sure why, & he had an amazing back nine, though I fancy if luck comes in runs, he's had his share already.

3 more days that interesting & that'll do nicely for me.

I heard DeChambeau say he had changed his shafts for the Masters, which seems a little mad, but clearly didn't do him any harm.   He reportedly said "should have left the pin out" on that eagle chance towards the end.   Do like him a lot.   If I ever give golf a proper go, I might go for the single length irons; it just makes sense for a bad golfer who needs a short cut.

He's as nutty as a fruitcake, probably drinks his own pee.

He does not seem bothered by what others think though, & just charts his own path. Looks all wrong when he is on his shot, but it seems to work for him.

In contrast, it was painful to watch Spieth, clearly struggling with everything about his game. He's a lovely kid, & the records show he has (or had) a world-beating game, & a great Masters record. But the harder he tried yesterday, the worse he got. Genuinely felt for him. Eventually, he'll get it sorted & will become best in the world again. Well I hope he will.

Sometimes the betting amazes me.

Rahm, two off the lead is still as big as he was at the start. Ok some big names ahead but still same price.......

Not a recommend btw, just in case some sniper  pop's up......

The percentage of left-handed golfers is no where near that of snooker players.

This is an extraordinary watch.

Handful of holes remain, and got no idea who will win, could be any of 10 or more.

It’s become a lot clearer over the last two holes. Never imagined he could do this again. Quite a triumph of will and skill.
