i think we missed the boat not getting hiddink. the best person to manage england who knows the english game aswell as anybody (and also the foriegn game) would be arsene wenger but there is NO WAY he will do it. with the players england have and the way which wenger gets his players playing i think we would win the world cup.

Behind Wenger and Benitez, I rate Hiddink as the 3rd best manager in the world.

i heard he had been playing well away from home

seriously his price has drifted from 8.0 this morning to 1.4 (after scolair said no) to 4.5 now such a drift in a couple of hours can only mean nobody has a clue what the FA are going to do next

Why no Mourinho Nem?

He's fourth/fifth/sixth

He did very well with Porto, in Europe, won the domestic league & cups etc.. But Porto are considered to be the 2nd biggest club in Portugal and the Portuguese league only has 2-3 teams. Benitez equalled his European/domestic achievements but he achieved them in the strongest leagues and with 2 different teams in Valencia and Liverpool.

Valencia are not even the 3rd biggest team in Spain, and to break the Barcelona/Madrid strangle hold on domestic honours with limited resources is a great achievement.

As for Mourinho and Chelsea...Well, it's not hard to win the league with the strongest squad ever assembled in the history of World Football. I'm pretty sure Ranieri would have won the league if he was given time.

as much as i hate fergie he has to be in the top 2 or 3 managers in world football

he took small clubs in scotland and improved there lot before making aberdeen (a mid table team in a poor league) the kings of europe winning both the ECWC and the super cup beating some great teams on the way

he then takes a poor Man U whom hadn't had any success in years and who where in fact becoming a laughing stock of english football to european and domestic success although recent years have seen the london clubs climb above man u fergie has achieve much more in his carear than wenger ever will

Alan Curbishley has just resigned as Charlton's manager.

I hope he doesn't get the England job. IMO, he isn't good/strong enough.

He is currently 3.05 on Betfair.

Did anyone see big Sam's interview after the Bolton game today, you could sense the pride in his voice and he still wants the job. He also said he believed it was now a match between him and McClaren.

I hope Sam gets it.
