Is this a joke thread?  Another one?  You know for a fact it was an awful call by AQ.  Equally awful however is your 16K all in to a 8K pot.  There is never any need to overbet a pot like this.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the 5xBB raise pre-flop either.

Why use 5 when 3 will do. With a smaller raise you can bet the pot on the flop without commiting yourself. Gives you more room to maneouver so to speak.

Going all in 16K into 8K pot with overpair is worse play than calling with AQ in my opinion.

nah i like the 16k into the 8k pot with the overpair if he bets any less than 6k it will give the guy odds to call if he bets any more its too much of his stack to fold if reraised so get the raiase in first if you plan to play for all your chips

So you'd check-call 6K with AQ here:?

Here's the stats.....

Number of newmanseye threads on Hand Analysis board - 7

Number of hands on those threads that you lost - 6/7    (the other was a 47o thread)

Number of hands involving actual close descions - 0/7

Nae trying to diss you here just for the fun of it Billy (although that is part of it, I won't lie) but I just want to make the point that if you're serious about looking at your game you need to draw a distinction between Hand Analysis and self indulgence.

Don't dwell on the situations where you've been outdrawn or cold-decked. It's easy to spend time lamenting your ill fortune, working out just how "unlucky" you've been in a certain hand. Feeling sorry for yourself is self-indulgence and it is in no way constructive to playing a sound game of poker.

Ignore the no-brainers and instead devote your time to thinking about actual desicion hands. If you get these right more often then you'll probably be winning more money and the outdraws won't bother you so much.  Cheesy

Look at hands you win aswell. Yesterday when you had 2k in chips with blinds of 75/150 and had QJo in the small blind. An early position player (The Nun) went all-in for 1k. You called?Huh?

I'm not just teasing you, that really was an atrocious call. (Nun had AJ and was outdrawn)

This may sound a tad harsh folks, but newmanseye is me pal and I've said as much to him in person. He's made fae solid stock and disnae mind. I though I'd post this as we can all be guilty of things I've mentioned sometimes. I know I certainly can be.

Ohh, I just saw this ya bugger.

OK first off ye have far too much time on yer hands to go through all my bad bear stor... erm hand analysis

Now I do analyse my game, however I have been playing a short period of time and I must confess I have had some monsters cracked and I wanted to find out have I played them wrong.

This thread for example, I knew my opponent was behind and I could not work out his reasoning for calling. I wanted to know if anyone else would have called with the 2 over cards and a back door flush only so i know how to better play these hands next time they come up.

The reason I never post my winning hands is that I have never had a problem finding a caller when I have a monster. The style I have usually gets me the action I need.    again this could be why said villian calles me with his  .

Also I had posted one where i flopped a boat however I just could not put my opponent on quads and I wanted to know if anyone else could read him for the quads.

I stand by my posts on this thread, I may not look for the same info that everyone else does but again that makes me a different playere from most.  ( ok I'm a big fish before you say it )

As for the call with QJ to the nun's all in, I had saw the nun go all in for I think the 3rd time in a row and I happen to like QJ it has a little history with me so on a gut instinct I decided to call.

I have said before I play a lot with gut feeling and I let that override a mathmatical decision, a lot would argue thats a bad thing however it works for me in cash games.

Well Tank and I are good mates and we were joshing about this last night, I did'nt expect him to follow through with it, BUGGER THAT YOU ARE!!!
