Conor has been wearing high-heels I reckon - he's looked a couple of inches taller than Floyd in all of the face-offs up until the weigh-in at which point they seemed the same height.

Funny how vegas odds compilers talk about how they price up fights compared to the uk counterparts. They literally want to balance action rather than lay the right price. The discussion about the tyson-douglas book where they wrote $1.8m in bets and only won $100k when tyson lost and would have broke even pretty much if tyson won just shows you how much they give away moving off big money to try and lay both sides. They only held 5% when they got their best result. Their odds would have been roughly 105% (or 5% margin for them in a standard two way book) 98% of the time they would have won nothing. Effectively they probably bet that fight to 100.6%. If they laid another $2500 at 30/1 on douglas they would have had both sides as winners for probably $10k on a turnover of $1.8m! roughly 0.6% margin when their book margin was close to 5% in theory.

They will feel much worse just before the weigh in than 24 hours after a stone heavier. |

It's amazing what they can do. All the top guys have nutritionists to do the science behind it. 7-10 days before a fight sparring stops and it's all about making weight. |

It's amazing what they can do. All the top guys have nutritionists to do the science behind it. 7-10 days before a fight sparring stops and it's all about making weight. There were a few deaths among low level MMA guys trying silly weight cuts all by themselves. BBC had a decent documentary on the subject. I like using boxing's Terrence Crawford as a weight cut example and it's shorter viewing: TC is one of the rare cases of cutting so much weight it had a slight negative effect on his performance. Of course we only knew this after the fact when he moved up a weight division and started knocking out top level guys as opposed to winning on points. |

I think Mayweather opened at 1/25? Is that more or less the right price?

Well in that case I'll give hills some more action by having a punt on McGregor to be docked a point at 4.5. I'm thinking Conor will barely land a punch in the first few rounds and have to resort to fighting dirty in a bid to unsettle Mayweather, or cut his eye and make a win by a stoppage more likely. Why wouldn't he go for low blows too-he'll never win on points...

TKO and DisQ will be under on the machine compared to on the high street. |

I thought weighins were moved back to a few days before the fight specifically to prevent boxers from fighting while dehydrated (which I think is majorly -EV for their brains)
