Help!

Morning blonde!
Heeeeelllllpp
I recently bought a laptop, it was a dell and seemed to be of a good spec, it cost about £800.
It's only a few weeks old and already has issues at times connecting to the net, like will have poker tables going, few websites up and running, Skype etc and then poker tables will lag / freeze stall, I'm going to take it back and get a refund. Last night I had to reload poker client 6 times!
Anyone have any recommendations for a suitable laptop for poker, web surfing, Skype etc?
Or even what I should be asking for in the shop, eg specifications, memory processor type etc
Happy to spend up to 1k and ideally want to pick up from a retail premises.
Tyia!

Having googled the laptop it seems it's a common issue with this particular laptop.

Are you 100% sure it's the laptop? The symptoms match what would happen with a flaky internet connection too.
If I *had* to buy in a shop I'd look at these:

Personally I'd buy a Dell or Asus online - you have more return rights. If I chose the Dell I'd add their 3 year next day fix warranty support as well.

Hey Longines,
Thanks,
Internet is fine on tablets/ phones, so seems to be an issue with the laptop.
It's a very similar model I have to the 1st link you posted, it seems there is issues with the wifi connection on some of these dell models.

In which case rather than going through the rigmarole of returning and setting up a new laptop I'd be tempted to buy one of
these
, disable the internal wifi and see if it makes a difference.

I have a number of these at work currently for our high capacity users - seem very good, robust very few issues per user.

Also the Pavillion HP Pro Longines posted is a great machine we were on the I5 version and have been basically bomb proof, we are only leaving HP due to another change on connectors and docking stations etc. Personally would never go back to Dell - the ones that work, work well, but they have about a 10% failure rate on new units.

Shit post Nakor, such a clown.
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?
