Why did Mrs Referee not pick up that piece of fallen debris from the lighting gantry?
Eventually, Yan picked it up, but the ref should have dealt with it earlier, and also checked that the lighting rig was safe.

+1 It's weird, I think he's really good on the radio. Put him front of a tv camera and he turns into a twat. He was unbelievable yesterday interviewing Yan Bingtao after his win against the other Chinese lad in the semi-final. The interview was being conducted via an interpreter and Yan was a little hyper to say the least and was yammering away nineteen to the dozen in Chinese - all the while Colin was looking at him and nodding like one of those annoying nodding-dogs in the back of cars as though he understood every word - clearly if Colin Murray speaks fluent Cantonese I am doing him a disservice. He has an unfortunate manner, as my diplomatic and much missed old man might have said. |

Good shout Ralph, it's rare to see such talent in one so young. Love his tempo, too, strolls around the table like a veteran. Currently 33/1 for the World's, and 2018 may be a tad soon, but I've seen worse bets. He played it this year, and was narrowly edged out 10-8 by a somewhat lucky Shaun Murphy, so he has some Crucible experience. What a lovely thing it is to see youngsters with such exceptional talent. |
