One day they'll make a television with volume controls, so you don't have to listen to the commentators Wink

Players are going to have to start re-thinking the standard break off. It just isn't safe any more.

They're talking about this semi-final taking 9 and 1/2 hours as though it were a long time - I've played single sessions longer than that.

Anyone else get the feeling that all of the commentators have got their money on Willo?

Go on the hawk!

I used to play a lad called George Elliot every Sunday for ~ 2 years. We would start at 10am and finish at midnight with half an hour for lunch, (provided free by the club proprietor) other meals and refreshments, along with about 60 fags each, were consumed at the table. A good win, or heavy loss, would be somewhere in the region of £50.

Even back then, (I was in my early 20's) I used to get home utterly exhausted but I was always back there by 11am on Monday to play old Billy King a best of five for a tenner and the light. In that game I was about a 3/1 favourite, Old Billy knew this but he didn't mind, he was rotten with money and just enjoyed a game.

Barry says that the blue moved. So what? It isn't Barry's fault. The ref shouldn't be entitled to put it back.

I think Barry will be thinking about a dozen other shots from that session, before he's thinking about his shot selection there.

The thing is he had a shot to win the frame and turned it down.

It was a ball to win the frame, or lose the match.

Don't really blame him for erring on the side of caution.

He could have gone for it and left the cue ball on the black rail almost a shot to nothing unless it rattles and hangs.

I'll have to watch the frame again, so could be mistaken.

I'm not sure he'd have been going all the way back up the table with the angle he had.
