I've been a bit manic, so only got to catch the 2nd day of Ronnie's 1st match.

At least it wasn't dragged out, and Ali was on his way home lively Cheesy

Brecel is deffo an odd one!

Think it was Ralph posted about him on here a long time back when he was still a kid.

Supreme talent, but obv struggles in the discipline department.

If you play, or have played snooker and you saw Luca Brecel last night then you, like me, will have been astonished.
It was the most dazzling display of natural talent that I have ever seen, and I was there when Alex Higgins, Jimmy White, Ronnie O'Sullivan and all the other naturally talented players were in their pomp.

It was totally effortless, even his bridge hand had no tension in it. Instead of gripping the cloth it just lay there limply, like a stranded jellyfish, while its owner stroked in fluent, fluid, frame-winning break after break.

It's on the BBC iPlayer if you missed it.

Caught some of it, and was astonishing. Ding must be wondering wtf has happened Cheesy

Bugger! When it went 7-4 I could have cashed out for £1.47. I've missed the boat now.

I take it that was your 'maximum' cash out?  Cool

I always enjoy the World Championships every year, and watch every game if I can.

I put a fiver e/w on Zhao Xintong @ 12/1. He is such a natural talent and some of the older heads (Hendry & Davis among others) are singing his praises this year too. Looks like he might meet Ronnie in the Semi's and possibly Trump in Final. If he wins both of them, he will deserve to be World Champion IMHO.

Watched the rerun of the 'Black Ball' Final from 85 on BBC 4 the other night. Amazing how the game has progressed since then. There were half a dozen 'foul and a miss' shots back then, which obv were not called . Plus the amount of times when power shots were not done to break up the pack.

My snooker claim to fame.... Back in the late eighties I was one of only SEVEN people nationwide who got 'shot of the Championship' correct. I missed out on the 3 prizes on offer.

Been a great tournament so far, and would love Ronnie to do it, but Trump is looking very solid.

I've been looking forward to the World Seniors championship, so I checked it out on Channel 5 this morning.

One frame matches. 900 seconds (15 mins) per frame and if it's not finished in time who ever is in front when the buzzer sounds is the winner. Oh, and there is a shot clock, meaning that a player must strike the ball within 20 seconds of the white coming to rest.

What an utter load of unmitigated bollocks. Veterans of the game with a lifetime's worth of tactical knowledge running around the table like schoolboys. Everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves.

It doesn't need refereeing, it would be fairer to toss for it.

And you should be ashamed of yourself for knowing the ref.

Just accidentally put the World Senior's snooker on and now it's a normal format.

I did know I had so much influence.
