Thanks Tikay and arb for the broadcast update. So now I won’t have to go to the G..... but I still might, lol

4/7 Raducanu, 6/4 Fernandez on betties atm. I’m sure Emma’s blissfully unaware of the weight of expectation. At that price I’m inclined to have an interest on Fernandez: she’s shown some mettle on her journey to the final, having lost a few sets and battled back into her matches. Perhaps Emma has the psychological advantage in that she won their junior encounters (if I read an article correctly, I believe they met twice as 12-14 year olds and she won both), but this match is a totally different kettle of Slazengers

Well I'd prefer Emma to prevail, but two smiling youngsters like this pair has to be much better for the game than the growly stuff we have become used to seeing in recent years.

It's a weird one because logic says Emma has to be over bet by rec cash.   She has also run very well draw wise.   No seed until the last 8 and she run into the unseeded hometown girl who 'bounced' after beating the number 1 seed Barty v Emma and struggled with the pressure and expection.     She hasn't beaten anyone seeded in the top ten either.   Flip side is she is well rested with no close matches at all

In contrast her opponent has much more soild form in the book beating the 2,3 and 5 seeds albeit it long tough encounters.

I got tempted by the 2.56 about Emma in straight sets but what do I know?

I'm not even sure if rhetorical questions deserve a "?"

Gooooo Emmmmma

Pretty sure Raducanu should be favourite, but more like 5/6 than 4/7.   She has been playing like a top 20 player throughout and has beaten every single opponent really well.  I know they were not top 10, but she has properly done over 11 and 12 in the rankings.  Just had to back Fernandez at 2.74, but still cheering for Emma.

I don't know how she'll do against top 10 opponents in the future, but hope she just carries on as she has been and she'll be top 10 in no time.

some build up amazon prime offer to a slam final.   80 minutes of serious analysis from numerous old school faces.

emma drifts to 1.63 from 1.56 on going 0-15 down on the first point!

how many female players in history have won a slam without losing a set and the closest set throughout was 6-4?  can't be many if any right?

Very impressive & well deserved win. Hats off to her. She handled everything thrown at her. It’s great that we have seen the future of the women’s game - and an English girl is going to be a big part of it.
