Golfer Lee Westwood won nearly £22,000 after backing every winning horse on the first day of the Cheltenham Festival.

The former world number one, from Worksop, won Betfred's totejackpot competition by betting on the first six winners.

The golfer then bet on the seventh race and picked yet another winner.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I put £128 on the tote [totejackpot] and it paid just under £22,000."

Love this horse.   I didn't back it yesterday, as I thought it was too short in the morning, but I did last year.

He has now won the Triumph, The 4 mile chase and the cross country.

It will be tough to find a horse that has won a bigger range of races at the Festival, it must be near impossible if the horse needs a Timeform squiggle to qualify.
