WP and unlucky mate, sounds like it wasn't our day.

Cheers muckthenuts, no, we were due a day like that I guess, but it definitely wasn't!

Tuesday 19th June

The $1,500 shootout was 11am this morning. I felt it right to sleep as much as I needed, and see if that allowed me to get there for the 11am start- necessary in shootouts, as you are blinded away for any time you miss.

My body did indeed request a long sleep, and so instead, I will play refreshed the 3pm Big Bet Mix.

A new event last year, it's a sick one- the games are NLHE, PLO, PLO8, no limit single draw, no limit 5card draw, and the salty one that plays a lot higher than any other- pot limit triple draw.

That sounds like a lot of fun. Love playing all different games, though I know I'd be eaten for breakfast in these fields.

How long before we get a WSOP event of Dealers' Choice Plus, where the player can call out the rules of the game?

"Yeah, we will be playing Lebanese Triple Stud with deuces and queens wild, half kill, with a board of three community cards that can be used at any time for the low only...and the first person to slap the table on seeing those cards add up to a prime number gets half of everyone else's stack."

"My go? Right. We're playing cups."

Been a fabulous follow from afar so far.

That said, it is about time you won one of these. Get the thread over 100 pages and the POTY locked up.  Smiley

Bet yer happy as a pig in muck, as they say down our way.

$2500 Big bet mix

This is a great fun and great value event. Table looks good. There is one English guy, who I think is Trickett's friend Joel, but not at all sure.

I'll do the games in ascending order of wackiness

1) No limit holdem
2) PLO
3) PLO 8
4) Big O
5) NL single draw 2-7
6) NL five card draw (wow)
7) Pot limit 2-7 triple draw. Pot limit makes it the craziest, easily the biggest.

ha, maybe I should aim to play this next year too.  bet if you hit, bet if you miss in triple draw?

Well that's kind of exactly it. If someone is pat, and you check raise pot, it's just a complete nightmare with them for 90% of their pat range.

$2500 Big bet mix

Two interesting ones, one nice, one nasty.

Pot limit Omaha hilo

UTG (the tournament is six handed) opens to 300 at 100bb, I have the beautiful   Two Diamonds on the button and 3bet deliberately slightly small to 800

Flop a beautiful . (nut high, nut low draw)

He check - calls my 1k bet.

Turn not good, it brings a deuce to counterfeit my low draw.

Two Clubs.

He checks. I now could check in case he is going to check raise all in with a strong low and some level of freeroll (although I will have some small counter freeroll if his low counterfeits). I could bet for value against a worse high (top two, but JJJ, 666) with a similar or worse low situation. Or I could check to effectively trap, and go for value on the river. This obviously always allows some level of free card, and in general the best plan in pot limit Omaha hilo is to bomb if its safe, given the free cards that are dangerous all over the place. I also of course may be able to Bluff off a low like 47.

I bet 3k and he folds fairly quickly

No limit five card draw

I am dealt the strong and interesting   two hearts UTG and raise to 300. Two calls and the BB makes it 1,650. I call, button calls.

Big blind draws one. Logically, drawing one is either two pair or a flush draw. After a three bet, it should be two pair. I have the decision whether to draw to aces up/trips, which I will hit about 28% of the time, or a flush, which I will hit 18% of the time. The button player actually makes the mistake of having his one card draw ready, which helps. This makes it seem that he is drawing to a flush, and therfore I have implied odds in my favour if I make an ace high flush, and reversed implied odds against me if I make two pair.

I draw to a flush and miss, and the big blind three bettor bets out 5k (interesting)

Exactly starting stack at first break , 12.5k

$2500 Big bet mix

pot limit Omaha hi lo

Had Q532 on 6548K River. Thought it was interesting as its an incredibly rare spot where I can never get him to call with a worse high, fold a better high, call with just a worse low, or fold a better low.

$2500 Big bet mix

In quite unlikely circumstances, for a six handed tournament which has high variance, some unusual games, I've had a group of hands which have amounted to a very steady, normal time.

Going into level five, 12,400
