$10000 triple draw

Exciting tournament today. Great game, six handed.

Table interstsing, Selbst and Kessler.

Interesting first hand.

CO opens, Selbst three bets button, I four bet from BB with 8542x. Both call.

Draws are 1-2-1 (me, CO, Selbst). I catch 98542. That is interesting and close as to whether to break or pat, but I feel its a break three way.

Selbst bets, we both call. Draws are 1-1-PAT.

I whiff, both call. 1-1-PAT

I make 86542. Nice. Probably good vs Selbst about 70%. I bet.

Selbst insta folds. Which is interesting. And impressive, given she is getting 8.5-1. Her thinking is right;although the odds are good, it's a very unlikely spot for me to bluff, even without the threat of the extra player.

But the big thing is, especially with it being an insta fold, that it will have implications later on. The obvious one would be that in the next similar spot, a call is coming, but obviously then poker's double/triple bluff element comes in.

$10000 triple draw

Interesting one.

Raise 742xx CO, BB three bets. I call, draw two. He bets, i call and catch 7542. He pats, I draw one. He bets (all standard so far)...

I catch 87542. This is a fairly text book 'freeze' spot. Normally you raise with any hand that you will go pat with, but to 'freeze' is to flat call, with the intention of not warning them to break. He is likely enough to have worse 87s and 9 s,and there is just no reason for him to break them now.

He pats, I pat. His check is very good news, and now I have the decision whether to value bet or not. I do, given I have the nut 87. He calls, I say '87,' he says 'which 87?'. That is obviously great news, and I win it.

Won two since, up to 75k

I was up for nomination, but they heard that an unknown holdem player from Leicester, London had been going around laughing at me, so I didnt make it in.

$10000 triple draw

Phew. Down to one vs one river vs Mike Watson, i catch K7643. He bets, I have just 3200 left (bet is 4000). I can only beat a bluff, but decide to call it off.

He has bluffed with 88432.
