Will take that.

My everyday freebet I put on BDM, so didn't like seeing Anibale flying up the hill Cheesy

Was another spectacle with those two taking each other on again.

So sad to see Sir Erec break down so badly, meanwhile, the winner almost parted company with his jockey at the first but emerged a good winner.

The best & worst of jump racing there.

Yeah, it's a cruel game.

I think the pre race footage being so fresh in the mind made it feel even worse.

True, watching him close up whilst his shoe was being replaced made it all the more poignant.

Good job Gill was not here watching it, she'd be in floods of tears, she really would.

I was in tears. Ironically I used to love the races and went to Glorious Goodwood and a few other places for a few years. I fell out of love with racing when in my eyes the biggest star and most beautiful horse with the most arrogant personality I had ever seen broke down also in an horrific way but he thought he was that good he tried to keep going on 3 legs. I cried buckets that day and never watched a race for years.

That horse was George Washington, trained by Aiden O'Brien. It broke my heart.

So many emotions in racing.

Tremendously sad, but it's what they're born to do.

Thought Joseph's interview in the aftermath was very good, too.

That's a tidy profit even if it did cost a few grey hairs(beard hairs obv).

Lot busier at work now, so have to calm down a bit next year.

Won't have as much time to invest, so much have to just go full ice-cream and do mug accas on the day Grin

Thought the any race markets would be a saviour, but if Early Doors hadn't won the last, I'd have lost 80 points in that.

A day of mixed emotion to say the least.

My biggest ante post bet on Sir Erec was a horrible way to start the day on so many levels.

Strangely though I am one of 3000 people that has an eyelash, tailhair etc in Pentland Hills. I made a tidy sum having backed him at 33s before his debut, but it was a strange race as I am with all my mates, who are all on Erec, and the place we have booked out goes dead after his horrific injury.

Then within 90 seconds the horse my wife bought a share in for me as a pressie from our dog, wins the race......

Hard to balance the mixed feelings...
