We've been having some semi-success over on the Sports board with this so here's the non-sporting version to fill the week long wait for the RSQ. Couple of days to enter.

Really straight forward, just send me your guess for each question and your score is your distance from the answer. Winner is the person with the lowest score after 10 questions.

Have a go, don't need to know the answers, just a bit of fun.

Deadline Friday 3pm. Reveal 4pm.

Questions

Bit of a farce this Scotty.

1. Combined age of Ocean's 11 actors George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon?

2. The distance from Dundee to London in miles?

3. The number of Primark stores in the UK?

4. The cost of an iPhone 8 from the Apple website (£)?

5. Number of acting roles by Robert De Niro, according to IMDB?

6. The River Thames is the longest river that is entirely in England, what length is it in miles?

7. Number of countries in the world?

8. Lionel Messi was the highest paid sportsman in the world 2019, how much was he paid that year ($m)?

9. The biggest ever UK lottery win was in October of last year, but how much was it (£m)?

10.  Population of the USA to the nearest million?

Let's call the top 5 "the winners" and the bottom 5 "the losers", to maintain a sweat for all throughout. Winners can celebrate in their home and losers can just stay in their home.

1. Combined age of Ocean's 11 actors George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon? 163

jakally 164 - 1
4KSuited 165 - 2
Rubbish2407 165 - 2
Tal 165 - 2
KarmaDope 165 - 2
---------------------------------
TightEnd 160 - 3
sonour 160 - 3
celtic 159 - 4
Arbboy 169 - 6
Dacorb 157 - 6
nirvana 170 - 7
stribling 155 - 8
bunnydas8888 150 - 13
Cf 150 - 13
Juperjiper 149 - 14
-----------------------------------
Karabiner 149 - 14
ripple11 148 - 15
MintTrav 148 - 15
bergeroo 142 - 21
Ironside 140 - 23

This'll more than likely be the lowest scoring question on average. Clooney the oldest at 58, with Pitt not far behind at 56, and Damon the baby at 49. A lot of low scorers but it is jakally who takes an early lead. Ironside, who has been showing an upturn in form in the sporting versions, scores 23 to sit at the bottom after question 1.

2. The distance from Dundee to London in miles? 471

Ironside 480 - 9
bergeroo 444 - 27
ripple11 444 - 27
Rubbish2407 499 - 28
TightEnd 500 - 29
sonour 500 - 29
KarmaDope 500 - 29
nirvana 440 - 31
Arbboy 435 - 36
celtic 511 - 40
bunnydas8888 520 - 49
jakally 560 - 89
Dacorb 370 - 101
MintTrav 365 - 106
Tal 350 - 121
Karabiner 319 - 152
stribling 627 - 156
Cf 700 - 229
4KSuited 725 - 254
Juperjiper 200 - 271

My hometown of Dundee all the way down to London, the other city that I've lived in, albeit briefly, is a total of 471 miles. Some trek. Ironside does a flip flop and goes from the worst answer on the first question to the best answer on this one. A lot of other scores under 50 which is good going. Not so good for Cf, 4KSuited and Juperjiper who in one way or the other underestimated the difference.

Scores

Rubbish2407 - 30
KarmaDope - 31
Ironside - 32
TightEnd - 32
sonour - 32
------------------------------
nirvana - 38
celtic - 40
Arbboy - 42
ripple11 - 42
bergeroo - 48
bunnydas8888 - 62
jakally - 90
Dacorb - 107
MintTrav - 121
Tal - 123
-------------------------------
stribling - 164
Karabiner - 166
Cf - 242
4KSuited - 256
Juperjiper - 285

Some familiar names from the sporting board at the top after two questions with only 2 points separating the top 5. Rubbish, who was desperate for the reveal to begin, takes a 1 point overall lead. Could potentially already be a long way back for the guys in the bottom 5 who are 41 points behind the next player.

One of our factories is in Dundee. I like the place and the people. Here's a great anecdote - was watching something on TV the other day and the V & A building was in the backdrop, enjoyed seeing it as a point of recognition but can't remember the programme - told you it was a good anecdote :-)

I actually think we'd discussed you and Dundee before. I've never been to the V&A, it's quite an impressive looking building though and seems to have driven people here.

3. The number of Primark stores in the UK? 191

TightEnd 200 - 9
KarmaDope 200 - 9
Dacorb 180 - 11
MintTrav 172 - 19
jakally 22 - 29
Rubbish2407 225 - 34
Tal 150 - 41
sonour 150 - 41
Arbboy 135 - 56
Ironside 120 - 71
stribling 108 - 83
4KSuited 105 - 86
Cf 100 - 91
Juperjiper 89 - 102
ripple11 88 - 103
bergeroo 86 - 105
celtic 86 - 105
Karabiner 39 - 152
bunnydas8888 600 - 409
nirvana 3900 - 3709

A blow up of extreme proportions by Nirvana is the highlight of the round, overshadowing good shooting by TightEnd and KarmaDope. Bunnydas8888 also won't be happy with this one and he'll be joining Nirvana in the bottom 5 no doubt.

Scores after Q3

KarmaDope - 40
TightEnd - 41
Rubbish2407 - 64
sonour - 73
Arbboy - 98
------------------------------
Ironside - 103
Dacorb - 118
jakally - 119
MintTrav - 140
ripple11 - 145
celtic - 149
bergeroo - 153
Tal - 164
stribling - 247
Karabiner - 318
------------------------------
Cf - 333
4KSuited - 342
Juperjiper - 387
bunnydas8888 - 471
nirvana - 3747

Solid scoring again from KarmaDope sees him take a one point lead at the top of the league but he has antepost favourite on his heels. Arbboy pinches Ironside's spot in the top 5 but he isn't far back, with Jakally and Dacorb also within range. A bad question for Nirvana and bunnydas8888 who drop in to the bottom two spots with Nirvana needing some sort of miracle to get out of the loser spots. Notable name down the bottom with Karabiner delighted with his 15th place spot.

4. The cost of an iPhone 8 from the Apple website (£)? 479

KarmaDope 479 - 0
Arbboy 500 - 21
bergeroo 440 - 39
celtic 520 - 41
stribling 419 - 60
TightEnd 400 - 79
Rubbish2407 595 - 116
jakally 600 - 121
sonour 600 - 121
Juperjiper 350 - 129
ripple11 349 - 130
Ironside 299 - 180
bunnydas8888 250 - 229
nirvana 750 - 271
Dacorb 750 - 271
Cf 800 - 321
MintTrav 820 - 341
Tal 90 - 389
4KSuited 875 - 396
Karabiner 1099 - 620

Unbeknownst to me, current leader KarmaDope works for Apple and gets the question bang on - anyone needing a new contract hit him up. Not many under 100 on this one so well done to the guys who were. Karabiner, talked up after the previous question, has a minor blow up whilst Tal must have been shopping on eBay for his iPhones.

Scores after Q4

KarmaDope - 40
Arbboy - 119
TightEnd - 120
Rubbish2407 - 180
celtic - 190
----------------------------
bergeroo - 192
sonour - 194
jakally - 240
ripple11 - 275
Ironside - 283
stribling - 307
Dacorb - 389
MintTrav - 481
Juperjiper - 516
Tal - 553
-------------------------------
Cf - 654
bunnydas8888 - 700
4KSuited - 738
Karabiner - 938
nirvana - 4018

That is not a misprint, Celtic has ventured in to the top 5! He's still some way behind leader KarmaDope who vitally smashed the last question and has a 79 point lead. Arbboy jumps to 2nd with Rubbish and TightEnd maintaining their top 5 spots. Bergeroo and Sonour are right outside the top 5 and still well in contention to win the whole thing. Shout out to Stribling and Ripple11 who've been maintaining midtable spots so far. No surprises that Nirvana props up the table with the bottom 5 already over 100 points behind the next player.

5. Number of acting roles by Robert De Niro, according to IMDB? 121

KarmaDope 120 - 1
Karabiner 119 - 2
Juperjiper 112 – 9
Rubbish2407 109 - 12
bergeroo 101 - 20
Ironside 100 - 21
Cf 100 - 21
4KSuited 145 - 24
Tal 150 - 29
Dacorb 80 - 41
TightEnd 75 - 46
jakally 70 - 51
celtic 63 - 58
MintTrav 62 - 59
stribling 62 - 59
nirvana 200 - 79
sonour 200 - 79
ripple11 31 - 90
Arbboy 24 - 97
bunnydas8888 300 - 179

Not a question you could go too far wrong on, with only Bunnydas8888 thinking De Niro is in every second film. Incredible again from KarmaDope who watches a lot of De Niro films whilst selling iPhones. A few of the league stragglers have a good question with Karabiner, Juperjiper, Cf, 4KSuited and Tal all scoring well.

Scores after Q5

KarmaDope - 41
TightEnd - 166
Rubbish2407 - 192
bergeroo - 212
Arbboy - 216
--------------------------
celtic - 248
sonour - 273
jakally - 291
Ironside - 304
ripple11 - 365
stribling - 366
Dacorb - 430
Juperjiper - 525
MintTrav - 540
Tal - 582
---------------------------
Cf - 675
4KSuited - 762
bunnydas8888 - 879
Karabiner - 940
nirvana - 4097

KarmaDope is smashing it and has a clear lead at the top but there plenty people not too far back with some volatile questions to come. Celtic's top 5 run ended after 1 question as Bergeroo takes his spot and the top 5 now have a slight gap between them and the 6th. Sonour, Jakally and Ironside join Celtic in the chasing pack. Despite solid performances, the bottom 5 are unchanged.
