Saw various posts on Twitter yesterday regarding him being seriously ill.  This post from Linda Johnson confirms that he's battling prostate cancer, which has spread to other areas.

It doesn't sound good, but here's hoping that he makes a recovery.

A bit more detail via Linda on Facebook.

"Hi Everyone. At Mike Sexton's request, I announced on Twitter this afternoon that he has been battling stage 4 prostate cancer that has spread throughout his body. In-home hospice care has begun.
Earlier today, Jan and I read hundreds of your messages to Mike. He is very happy that so many of you took the time to be so supportive. Mike asked me to let you know that although he is not able to respond to your messages, he appreciates them more than you could know and is very touched by them. I will continue to read him your messages as long as possible.
Mike is the greatest poker ambassador of all time and is beloved by players all over the world."

Mike Matusow had a long livestream earlier, which I think is going to probably be quite the emotional rollercoaster.

A few words for a DTD forum today

Today we join all of the poker world in mourning the heartbreaking loss of our friend Mike Sexton.

Of course Mike was an infrequent visitor to DTD but a friend to many of us not only on his trips to Nottingham but at partypoker live events including the Caribbean Poker Party where Mike could be found not only playing but lighting up the dance floor and the party scene!

I remember him at the club through a WPT week a few years back. He had time for everyone and I still chuckle at watching, on the request of the all in player, Mike commentating "WPT Style" as the community cards were dealt. The player was knocked out but left the top tier with a smile from ear to ear thanks to Mike.

We have seen so many wonderful stories being shared over the last few days showing the wonderful impact he had on so many lives, highlighting the true legend that he really is.

In the coming days we would love for everyone to continue to share these wonderful memories, to celebrate his life and to honour a great man. The world of poker will never be the same without him, but his incredible contribution to poker will never be forgotten.

Our heartfelt condolences go to his son, Ty, family and to all of his loved ones

 Extremely sad news.

Watching the WPT with his commentary was such an enjoyable influence in getting to know and love the game.

 RIP Mike

So sorry to hear this, RIP Mike.

Was such a great guy, met him at the partypoker event at Hampden a few years back, was just as he appeared on TV genuine, engaging and a top bloke.
