10350 EUR Main event

Right, sorry for the delay. The one bit of run good is that it's just possible to squeeze in a flight back to Birmingham tonight.

So, yes, it's probably just a standard big cooler, but worth going through.

I had actually got up to 175k. On the previous hand, I had collected what felt like the right two streets (turn and river) of value and sizing vs the Italian with on .

So, the peak of 175k was feeling great. Its my 3k big blind, Schemion raised to 6k under the gun. The button, a good Russian, calls. I have , and call. My one regret is potentially to not have squeezed (I knew I was very overdue to 3bet the Russian and had a very clean image vs him). However, you don't squeeze in order to avoid a flop cooler, and he may well have called anyway, so it's probably a moot poont.

Flop is . We have 169k into 22k. Didn't love it at any point, but I mean, I guess it's as simple as we get it all in, unless something bizarre 3way happens

I check, Schemion actually bets a large 17.5k. Russian calls. I guess, if there were any other way of playing the hand, then the slightly unusual large bet just ended it, as there is now 57k in the middle, and it's 57k that I'll likely now take. No other way to play my hand for value but to raise now.

I make it 70k. Sizing feels kind of clumsy, and looks like I probably have top two or better, but obviously I am repping a range which can contain the pair plus flush draw, or straight draw plus flush draw.

Schemion folds, Russian thinks for 20 seconds, and is all in. I don't love it, but I have to call, this is a 375k pot. There are 2 remaining combos of the dream (A4 suited), 1 combo of the split, 4 combos of the sets, but obviously he could have , , , , or maybe .

I'm not convinced he would play those draw hands like this, as it does look like I'm calling, but they have so much equity that it can't be far wrong for him, if he does have those hands, to hope for a small amount of fold equity to go along with his substantial drawing equity. Equally, I'm slightly surprised that he didn't raise his set of fours vs Schemion given the wetness of the board.

There's no other way any of my actions, and I call. You know the bad news just in the way a good player turns over his cards.

No miracle on .

End of package

Well, it feels like about a year ago that I went down the M40 on an early rainy November morning, excited for the first day that America was re-opening.

Thanks so much for, all the time since then, all the support and messages. I'll be honest ; the overall result is very disappointing, and some moments (partly aided by the walk back into the soullessness of Rozvadov) have been tough. However, at every point, I realise how lucky I am to be able to play such an exciting schedule, and, a couple of moments aside, the whole thing has been a ton of fun.

It's all the more enjoyable being able to share it on here, and to hear from everyone on here. Walking out of the casino felt like a low point, but there's no option but to go back to the hard work - back to PIO, back to Odin, back to Vision, back to coaching. And, depsite feeling a bit exhausted right now, it won't be long til Vegas rolls around again. See some of you there, and if not, on here!
