Nope, still on 3/4 power Ralph. I'm doing much better with my driver, just struggling with everything else, especially distance on 50/60yd shots.

Have you tried shortening the backswing and swinging at your normal speed?

In a word David, yes, it didn't help much.

I am having some success with my limited power swing. My driving IS better and because I'm hitting the sweet spot more often I'm not losing too much distance.

I played better today but struggled with the putter.

Yes it was great fun Andrew, can't wait to do it again.

I was glad that Mitch didn't play the back 9 as well as he did the front 9 though, he's insufferable enough as it is.

Decent back nine there Tom.

We played a 4ball today off the white tees again - it was playing very long for me - I hit driver, 3wood, 5iron into both of the really long par4's.

I could have done with a couple of your booming drives.

Nice steady card there Tom, back to where you should be. 👏👏

Had my worst round of the year yesterday. Back out to put it right on Thursday. Got to take advantage of the hood weather this week.

It's the senior medal and medal finals (which I am not qualified for - it's just for those that have won one this year) tomorrow.

I am looking forward to playing off the yellow tees again, not to mention just being up against the other old farts too.

It was indeed a lovely day for it and pretty much ideal scoring conditions, but the golfing gods aided by the greenkeepers  had other ideas..

Probably because it was The Medal Finals which means  trophies for each division winner and the winners' names on the board in the clubhouse in gold leaf, the greens had been ironed and double cut. Not only that but quite a few of the pins were tucked only a few yards from the corners/edges, so it was tricky.

Anyway including 3-putting four times I managed to shoot a mediocre 88/11/net 77, which would probably equate to 30 stabbos.

I am a glutton for punishment though and will be back for the Saturday medal at 11.56.

Well done Ralph, very nice round.

My round today 102, better than Monday but still not great.

They scarified and top dressed the greens this week which is a shame because they were in great condition. Now I know it's necessary, it's just I have a golf/poker day tomorrow.

I have a 4 ball tomorrow with 2 friends travelling up from the West Midlands.

The day goes like this.

Breakfast at the club 11am with a tee time of 12pm.
Stableford format with handicaps of 10,12, 23, 28. Three shots deducted because of the slope.

Golf over it's a swift pint then home.

Chinese take away, then upstairs for DC poker at 7pm.

Seven of us playing the likes of Stud, super stud, Maltese cross, 456 omaha, hi/lo, Irish, crazy pineapple (twist) Kalooki, triple draw, razz. Y flops and webanese flops to boot.

With the Ryder Cup inthe background it's going to be a great day.
